I Like Thursdays # 118

Welcome to this week's list of likes...brought to you by the color combination of red and green.

I respond to red, in all it's mixtures. Bright red, blue red, pinks, coral, all the way to slightly orange.
I love the soft plaid blanket we found at Khols... perfect for keeping toasty while watching tv...
Milo likes it too
I like finding decorations in the mess of moving boxes, and seeing lights going up little by little

I like timers that automatically provide pretty lights each evening.
I even saved this pretty kleenex holder from last year, so I just put a box of tissues in it, and voila!
Much prettier than the ones from this year!

I like that the Great British Baking show returns for a Holiday edition tonight, done on American tv. Yea!

I loved finding out Who do you think you are started again on TLC. I enjoy seeing how a person can start with grandparents, work their way back to a King! Or learn more about real lives of their ancestors. Being adopted I don't have a history, and long for it.

I liked our neighbor, recently moved here from the Baltimore area too, brought over his tall ladder so we could replace the bulbs in our entry fixture! Light! It's like a little miracle each night.

I like that my little hexi quilt is stitched into rows, and many rows stitched together.
Even a whole pretty section at the bottom is stitched together! I must watch a lot of tv! lol

I liked that a new art quilting friend came over for lunch this week. We had a great time getting to know each other. Like life does, she and her retired husband may be moving back to the south in the next year but I've learned friendship doesn't depend on physical closeness. We're all a phone call or email away, and it doesn't diminish the closeness.

I have a play date planned with another art quilt group person for Thurs, er today. (I write this on Wed) and she is so easy to like. I have hopes for our creative friendship to grow as the months go by.

I'll be sure to show you what we made!

I've been writing a post a day for Cheryl Sleboda's challenge since Dec 1st,  and wrote several fictional stories I really like... please read them!
the links are  HERE! and HERE!

I like shopping. We went to the mall last weekend and I had such a good time.

When I walked into Nordstrom it looked so much like the Annapolis store I felt like I was back home.
Love this purse from a British designer
I wanted the seasonal deal on Lancome renergie microlift creams, a set available only this time a year, and found out there was an extra 15% off the price. Score! It is in such a pretty box my husband doesn't have to wrap it for under the tree!

I like that my husband takes care of me, and understands why I want these creams. I wish I knew what to get him.

I liked finding the Christmas card box and writing a little newsletter so I can keep in touch with friends in faraway places. It's so wonderful to see a card in the mail isn't it?

I like that DH bought me this year's Jacquie Lawson advent calendar for the computer. I LOVE LOVE it and will spend way too much time watching and playing games, decorating virtual trees and cookies, etc.
I like that dh came home from the grocery with tres leches cake to surprise me

Milo's moments
Ho Ho Ho bark!
I also like tres leches cake!
I liked meeting Toby who's mama just moved here from Nebraska, wherever that is... I'm just a poodle and all I know is we had a romp and Toby is 2.

It's been cold here, even for a dog wearing a curly fur coat! I like snuggling on the big bed between my mama and daddy and sometimes cause trouble at night when I can't tell them I am ready for bed. Sometimes Daddy will lift me up then take his shower, so I have the WHOLE bed !
I wrote a list of things that bring me joy on Monday... it's HERE

Hi LeeAnna! Oh so pretty are your lights in the hallway! And a tall ladder is a fabulous thing especially when it means light. Yum, that tres leches cake looks delicious and I'm glad Milo got to enjoy some too! Happy Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

There are just so many awesome likes in this post, LeeAnna. I esp. like the one where you are getting together with people. But also interested in the Lancombe deal and delicious cake. Plaid blankets another favourite! Have to ask, do poodle shed at all? I love a dog on the bed but no way could Rex be there with his constant shedding of the undercoat.

Ah-plaid blankets and thank God for holiday lights on timers. An Advent Calendar for the computer? Cool. This was such a fun post. Enjoy.

Lots of "likes" that I totally agree with. Love that purse! So cute! Our friend with the tall ladder moved to Iowa and of course the stairway light (needing his ladder) burned out about 2 months after he moved. Maybe my husband needs a tall ladder for Christmas. LOL

no shedding. They do collect debris like leaves in their soft fuzzy hair. I had a lab once and hair was everywhere.

The Christmas hexies are quite festive!

Red is so amazing right now especially with green. One of my favorite combinations!

Have a wonderful day. Scritches to Milo. ♥

I love red everything. The last 3 cars we have owned have been red. I understand your feelings about family history, as I am also adopted. The bag for the crème's is beautiful!

I have a friend who gives me the Jacqui Lawson Advent calendar every year and I love it, too! Always fun to see what each day brings!

The hanging cow and the marshmallow tea towel, hahahaha. I love your humor, Lee Anna. Timers! I like that idea. I'll tell the Husband. Today, he shall attempt to create a Christmas tree out of lights on the wall.
I like the British baking show, too. The pace seems less hectic than the ones on Food Network.
Ciao!

Sounds like you are keeping busy. If I could stop falling asleep, perhaps I could be! But I guess resting is helping with healing.
I need to have more sewing friends round for lunch. Maybe plan at least one a month in the New Year. Big Hugs!

Hi Milo, sweet babi. I love it when dogs sleep on pillows, cracks me up. Great minds, I did a marathon clean and decorate yesterday and I even figured out Christmas string lights make a great way to hide speaker wire, yeee haaa. I also found that I have not one but two marshmallow s'more decorations, one to hang and one to plug in, so am loving the mallow t you found too.

That scottie dog purse is adorable! I really don't like shopping (mostly it's the crowds), but I love that purse! And I really like your ornament cinderella carriage! What a fun way to feature a special one. I'm glad you're making such good progress on your hexies, I'm knitting madly during my tv time to get some christmas gifts finished (we'll see if I make it...)!

Love seeing your quilt come together. I have a great memories of my grandmother quilting. Thank you for linking up today and have a great weekend.

That cake looks delicious. You've reminded me that I have a few more decorations I need to put up!

Great list of likes today. Your decorations are awesome, I don't feel much like decorating this year. I did buy a small tinsel tree, and red ornaments. I think this is a red year. But it definitely needs more lights. The tea towel made me laugh, and neat purse.

How neat that one of your neighbors is from the same area as you. Got a chuckle out of Milo's "wherever Nebraska is" comment. Looks as though you are certainly getting into the festive holiday spirit. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
