Milo's Monday Mischief

Milo here to tell you about my weekend.
Look at me! I found a ball! It's a sock ball! It smells like Mommy!
I'm an ANGEL! Look at my halo! It's Saturday and my peeps were having a cup of coffee (I don't need caffeine to start my day) so I wanted to move things along.
 Like walk for instance!
Mommy... got your socks! I'll give them to you if you go for a walk....
Huh??!? What do you mean by "drop"
Why would I drop the sock ball?
Let me think about this...

I don't see any sneakers or anyone moving toward the door or hear a leash... but she seemed to really want me to drop the socks so I did. I'm the best boy, pure angel (refer to picture number 2)
Well, I decided to make Mommy happy and give her the socks cause I still had a toy and Dad's shoe to play with! Lately I'm enjoying moving shoes from room to room. Oh I don't chew them, it's more about redecorating.

Later in the day we went for a "rideinnacar" to Frederick. This gives a poodle a chance to take a little shut-eye so he's fresh and ready to bark, er, I mean go for a walkabout.

LeeAnna: It started the minute we got out.
A stroller with eyes on it, bark!
Then a motorized wheel chair, BARK!
Then a bike, BARK!
Then some kids stomped on the metal sidewalk cover, YIKES! The big ticket fear was the wagon of cheering people being pulled by Mules!

Oy Vey!
From then on it was BARK BARK BARK.

Milo: Well, I was nervous. I had to warn you of all the possible dangers. That person looked scary. The leaf looked scary. The car door made a scary noise. The shop had scary stuff in it.
On the other paw,  Everyone wanted to give me a cookie and pet me. I do enjoy a cookie and petting.
Then I saw this...
I said it was perfect for our house but my peeps didn't want to move even one more rug.
This store held a surprise...
I love this store, we've been here before and Mommy even got a tiara, but I caught sight of three poodles!!

OMG, and then I saw another Mommy and Daddy!
Let's get outta here!

LeeAnna:We had a quick snack of a grilled cheese. It was made with Cheddar, their home made pimento cheese spread and bacon. I didn't get a picture.
(you're welcome)
They let us eat inside out of the rain, and it was peaceful til someone's two little dogs started screaming at Milo. He was good but after a bit, we left because we didn't want dogs to get a bad name, and the lady with the two yappers stayed.
Milo: They ate that in front of me and only gave me a little bite. Grrrr when will they learn to buy ME a dinner??

We ran into a group of marauding boys on bikes, who got into a comedy routine with us. They said we were the best people they met all day! But...
We left town early as Milo hit his limit of coping.

LeeAnna: It's okay baby! You'll get used to all that and after all...

moveaway giveaway

This is a random images post... with a giveaway!
It is Milo's day so he'll walk you through...
Milo:
I'm a poodle who respects women, especially women in the arts as my mama is an artist-type. That's why I am having some oatmeal in that bowl, cause mama went to the Women museum in DC. I didn't because I wasn't borned yet but also they don't like doggies inside I don't know why.
Anyway....

Mama has been anxious lately so it makes me anxious. I thought I could help her pack by giving away some of the Meeeelion art supplies she has hoarded bought over the years. (they came before I was born 7 months ago)

LeeAnna here: I will give this magical box of stamps, and inks and pens to a lucky winner who entertains and distracts me the most. Being a follower will help so let me know how you follow my little blog.

Tell me where you'd love to live in the USA if you could go anywhere. I am torn between Lake Placid in NY state and Santa Barbara CA. Of course I've not visited all the states yet but I know I love those.

I'll choose a winner at my whim, but Milo may have an influence.

Also, want to see what a crazed person went in the studio and put together in an hour? With scraps (from a friend) that could have been thrown out?
It's all flannel. I made the lumbar pillow out of the scraps I had, none went to waste, had just enough to put that flange/border. I quilted it to some waste batting. Then sewed some poly solid throwaway for the back, turned it inside out through an opening and sewed around the flange through all layers to finish. Before sewing the opening closed I stuffed it with fiberfill. Voila done.

Note my sock and legging, and my nail polish this morning! LOl.

Two winners were chosen and have been contacted. Thanks so much for entering and commenting, and there will be more giveaways to come so stay tuned!

Milo here:
Don't forget to distract Mama with your entries... she needs a good therapist too if you know one...

Milo's Mischief Uh Oh, there seems to have been an accident...

Uh Oh, there seems to have been an accident. Milo has been enjoying his toys in a very destructive way since his own unfortunate Accident. He is 5-6 weeks into a 4 month recovery, and tired of being good.

VERY tired...

 Milo here to explain
"sorry about the toys, but I am doing my best to not run, jump and play, so something has to go.
This dinosaur bought the farm one night. So did the monkey that squeals.
I won't discuss my bed... Mama seems to get upset and take a needle and thread to it a lot.
those two arms were toooooo tempting and easy to rip
Lucky for them, Mama is an expert repair artist!
She took to her sewing machine...

 How are you, buddy?
 Doing okay?
I mean he had NO anesthsia !

Hooray! Mama fixed them both! The monkey is squealing about his "big amputation and reattachment" and the dinosaur is coping with a new seam line but it all seems to be okay again!

Time to tear them limb from limb... gotta go!

Milo's Monday Mischief

My gosh! That's a big water bowl!

Milo has found his voice at 5 months.

He barks at the least amount of movement on the cul de sac. Very annoying. A neighbor comes out their front door, bark

. Bike? bark. Wind moving leaves, bark.

He barked at us last night. Drew came down to get him to go to bed, bark. I closed the cutlery drawer, bark.   Bark, bark, bark.

And all the different sounds! Amazing. He's singing, or speaking German.

Here's a video of Milo at his first concert... more interested in coming to see what I was video taping and people than the music...

Are YOU looking at ME? Milo's Monday Mischief

Milo here, with the CORRECT side of the story before Mama has her side... I mean, you can see I'm closer to the issue.

It all started when I looked at my bed the way I looked at my stuffie toys... not much difference. Fun to bite.

I began looking for the squeaker...
See the hole?
with my teeth of course. They are the BEST way to look for stuff. While I was looking something happened I don't know what, and there was stuffing coming out of the toy bed.

I'm not one to ignore free stuffing! Doesn't taste like much but it's easy to swallow.
Four little noses!
Suddenly all the toys are looking at me.
ME!
As if I did something wrong!
And the Mama is yelling again! " Milo! No biting the bed! " she said,
"Why don't you play with the real toys with squeakers?"

Huh? What is that you're trying to say Mama? Can't quite understand you, I'm only 5 months old!

Besides I will have to get back to you on that, since I have a whole bed to chew up. And the toys are really in the way, you should do something about that. And leave the sock, I found it fair and square in Daddy's stuff so it's mine now.

Listen, I'd like to stay around and make you happy and all but I've got work to do. My molars came in and I intend to use them to the max!
Huh?

"I said," said the Mama, " what about the tail on your mouse? Did you swallow that? "
Oh. My. Dog.

I don't know what happened to that! I don't keep track of all the piddly little details around here! Probably I was carrying it around, just trying to be helpful, by it's tiny long tail and it fell off.
 It wasn't me!
I was framed!
You can't pin this on me!

As I said, I have things to do right now. I absolutely must keep aerating this bed.
Don't stare at me or point that stupid camera at me either without a lawyer present
It ain't gonna chew itself!

You're welcome!

Milo's Monday Mischief Big Bed edition

I had to laugh this morning.

Milo has gotten in the habit of getting Daddy to lift him on the bed to snuggle with Mama in the mornings, but wakes me with his squirming and licking, and bumping around before he settles.  While he was eating downstairs with Daddy this morning he heard me get up.

He ran up the stairs and met me as I opened the bedroom door.

Rushing in wagging furiously, jumping his two little front feet on the bed, he was frantic to think he missed his "big bed" time!

Oh no! Get back in bed Mama! Now!
He placed his front feet on the bed several times and while I was hugging him he vaulted off me onto the bed!

Nothing left to do but get back in bed for a snuggle.

Wriggle. Lick, bump, move around, bite the quilt, lick a foot, turn around, dig in the covers, lick, turn around, head on my arm, bump, wriggle...BIG sigh..... snore.

While I'm up here I might just have a nip of this nylabone. Think of it as reading your nightly novel...
What do you mean "let's get up?" I've been up! I went out, had breakfast and I'm ready for a snuggly nap!
Mama: " Well, I need to get up, which means you need to get off the bed, and we'll agree to do this all again tomorrow, okay??  Shake on it!"

Monday Mischief... Milo has it all tied up!

Milo here to save the day! And tell my doggie friends how to do something....
While at the Lake the other week, I was sitting around thinking GREAT POODLE THOUGHTS

You know, about impawtant issues like how to keep your peeps close to you. They tend to wander off after forgetting me in my crate... who knows where they go.

So far they have found their way home each time, but to be honest, I'm not sure Mama has a sense of direction, so I worry. I may look like I've been asleep but it's from the exhaustion of sending them silent messages of come home! The poodle needs you!

Anywho... when we are out together they are smart enough to leash themselves to me, so they do NOT get lost.
I have a GREAT sense of direction and always know the way home, and the way back to the car. They wander around so much I doubt their noses work at all.
So on this day I decided, while I have them leashed, I'd round up the posse...
I don't want to brag, there's way, way too much of that going on nowadays, but I know my way around a leash!

I often run around my peeps just to keep them on their toes, and to remind them who's in charge!
Come on dog friends, you know what I mean, right?

I dart around, grab the leash, and flop down mid stop any time I want. When they try to get me up I laugh, and go limp.

It's hilarious! They pick up my middle, my head and rump stay on the ground, they roll me onto my feet and I fall right back over laughing and pawing at them with all fours! You should see their faces! (snorting water out my nose, cough cough, sorry)

So I had tired them out with my shenanigans and at the end decided to take action!
Quick as a cowboy, I hogtied that Daddy! Round his knees, draw in the leash, and boom! He's under my control!! That's all there is to it.

Of course somehow, I don't know how, the Daddy got out. Mama helped, they double teamed me. They will do that y'all, be careful and fast.
Still Daddy won't soon forget my ability to keep him close.

Milo, the wonder poodle!

Milo's Monday Mischief... Milo helps Daddy put on his shoes

For Monday Mischief today, I wanted to share one of the many ways Milo helps us each day... today it's helping us put on our shoes. He continues to be very interested with shoelaces. I've been known to sort of tie up his nose into my sneakers...
https://www.youtube.com/

I will say, this is about a week ago, and although he continues to help with laces he no longer growls or barks at us.

Our baby is growing up.
He turned 4 months old last Wednesday and lost all his bottom front teeth.
Possibly from having shoelaces and the leash pulled out of his mouth.

Everyone exclaims when finding out he's four months old, "He's so BIG!"

"Milo here,  I just don't see the point in covering feet. I don't like it. I prefer natural. My people will not listen to me so I had to up the ante with growls and barks. Then I had to resort to force, pulling the socks off.
They will not learn however, so I hope they grow out of this"
