and made a couple of maverick stars. I love the dusky purple sea gulls but am not sure I can make that work...I might just do some applique stars too... not those but some better ones
and for today's love music... my very favorite song is tropical... and one more tropical love song

I love the piece of sky with the hot pink and yellow highlights, but you're right, I don't think the sea gull fabric works in the maverick star block. I have great faith in you though, you'll find a better solution.

Loving your music selections! 50s, 60s, 70s, even some 80s were such good years for music. If you used just thin strips(maybe 2” or less) of the sea gull fabric somewhere, would that have enough effect for you?
I like those stars...but applique' would be nice as well.
