I Like Thursday #192

Welcome to this week's list of likes... first of all Spring is starting here, the trees are blooming.
robins are mating on our yard! (it doesn't take long)

I changed out the closets from winter wear to warm weather clothes, which always feels good. I get tired of seeing my same old clothes although I love them. I was happy to see these pants...
purchased at Macy's at summer clearance last year... so comfy and the perfect weight. (not me, the pants fabric lol)

I was very happy that the haircut I gave DH this weekend worked out. I watched two videos, one on shaving (I just used Milo's shaver for that part) and one on cutting men's hair with scissors.

perfectly understandable and I know it's probably a one-off but I like it better than the professional one he usually gets!

Funny restaurant sign.

lessons in how to get along...

I did not like that my ebook disappeared but I liked that I was able to re-check it out eventually to continue the story! I also found an embroidery book on Amazon Prime free books. Excited to read it altho one can't use patterns in them like real books.

I liked the mac and cheese we made one night. No recipe, we made it up.

DH found some cooked shredded chicken at the store, and we love a dish we used to get in Princeton NJ every year. A tiny hole in the wall deli had buffalo  chicken mac and cheese. OMG heavenly!
We made shell pasta to al dente. Mixed the chicken with hot sauce. chopped up cheddar cheese and made an alfredo sauce. Layering all of that with some stewed tomatoes for tartness, we topped it with some panko crumbs and baked for forty min.

It was a big success!
More about this artwork on Saturday. I started a new art quilt and it's to be a long banner with columbines or other spring flowers on it
I like that American Idol is continuing on with the kids singing from their homes. I like Survivor will do that too for the reunion, and like Call the Midwife, Songland,  Saturday Night Live from home, and Bravo for it's entertainment. It's fun to see interviews done via zoom and look at the stars' homes.

I like that my friend Bonnie is making sure to put on eyeliner every day to feel normal. I am trying to wear my good clothes even though Milo isn't picky. It makes me feel better. I am not wearing eyeliner as it migrates to my upper eyes now almost immediately.

IMHO, this is how I'd like us to behave in the USA.
If there is something you can do to help, then do it...right?

Milo's Moments
Hi Mama! I didn't touch the blanket there on the floor!
Mama: Milo! Tell the truth... you were playing with it again weren't you?
Milo: No way! I would never do that... except when it mocks me.
Mama: the blanket mocks you? Do tell...
Milo: Oh it's just crazy! It is soft like a dog toy, and all floppy and fun to flick from side to side... it knows just how to tempt me!
Mama: oh my dog...

Milo: let's talk about more fun things Mama! Like playing fetch or going for a walk, or eating some cookies. You like cookies!

You've got me wanting macaroni and cheese! A true comfort food I guess. I wish my planters would not tempt Murphy. I used soil from the compost and there must be a delicious smell to it. I like the idea of a long banner with flowers...perfect springtime project.

Cute spring pants! Your mac and cheese sounds yummy! I sometimes cut up a few cherry tomatoes and just add them to mine. Or chop up some deli ham to add. But since my husband doesn't like mac and cheese I don't make it very often anymore. I made some last week and ate leftovers all week it seemed like. LOL

Survivor has been good this season. I like the fire token twist because it gives them a whole new piece of strategy to consider. Usually I have favorite players but this season I really haven't chosen a favorite until this week. Now I think I would like to see Denise win.

I love those El Arroyo signs! I saw one the other day that said, "If you love someone, let them nap." We follow that at our house! We love "Call the Midwife," too - such a good show. Your green sewing looks intriguing! Looking forward to hearing more about!

What a fun post. Love your pants and that first flower. It drives me crazy that I have a closet full of clothes I’m “saving” for when I go out. Really ? It’s not gonna happen any time soon. I made mac and cheese in a cup last night for dinner with some ham chopped in at the end, very good. Thanks for including me.

Hello, Your tree and blossoms are pretty. I often add stewed tomatoes to my homemade mac and cheese. It is tasty. Milo is cute, I think that blanket should be his now. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend ahead!

I have to brush my hair and change out of my bathrobe cause my husband works at home now. I'm changing my clothes and watching the robins too. I like the kidney stone sign. Here is the link that didn't work on my blog today. http://www.looseleafnotes.com/2020/05/dont-adjust-your-television/

Thanks for posting and hosting. Sorry I missed the Zoom meeting Sunday. One of my guys stopped by. Hope to catch y'all next time. I enjoyed your Milo moments, acts and words of kindness. I just took out my warm weather clothing, too. I love to shop Macy's clearance in my size. Looking forward to the columbine quilt project ... :) Pat

Hi LeeAnna! Oooh, how exciting to be wearing spring pants - and they are SO cute, too. And you are giving haircuts?!! Sweet! I think you have yourself a new job . . . plenty of people would line up for your services around here. Milo - are enjoying all the nicer weather?! Take care! ~smile~ Roseanne

Saw the Austin restaurant sign. Are you in Texas? I love your quilting project! And that you are brave enough to cut your husband's hair.

I love those capris! I need to dig down and figure out some different things to wear around the house. I'm so tired of what I've been wearing! I need flowers!!! Hugs!

Milo is adorable. I like the sign about "like a kidney stone." Bitter sweet, like these times.

Love your pretty floral pants!

The "passing like a kidney stone" quote is so true and I have used it many times in the past. All things do have an ending....getting there is the hard part. Thanks for linking up.

I have done the same with my clothes - lovely rosy pants you have! Happy Mothers' Day weekend.

You found a lot to like and I like your post. I especially like the pattern on those pretty pants. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

Love those pants. Can't find anything like that around here, only dull colors, even in summer. I wish I could get out the spring/summer clothes, but we're having record breaking cold and still have the heat on. Have a good weekend.

I was thinking I should be doing eyeliner, esp when I go out (rarely) and I have a mask on so don't bother with lipstick!

I loved the video of pup and the kitty. What a wonderful bond. Rosie does act like a dog. So adorable.

It's great to see, Milo. He's a handsome pup.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. ♥

LA - you have some great quotes in your post today - kidney stones and ICUs - oh yeah. It may be spring in Montana, but we are not anywhere near to light weight pants or capris. It might even freeze tonight and we had to cover some flowers. Oh, that Milo! How can you keep from smiling even when you are annoyed?
