I Like Thursday #314 clouds

Welcome to this week's list of likes.... and we're focusing on clouds... LOOK UP!

our prompt this week is to share clouds and cloud watching stories

please enjoy this version of one of my favorite songs a quote "some things lost but some things gained by living every day"

consider what you like about their color, shape, what they mean for weather, amount of them (solid dark foreboding or one fluffy one in a blue sky) shape, stories about looking at them, a time when there was a dramatic cloud display. Daytime or night time around a moon or stars.

I do love clouds with sunset colors, I love this time of day when things quiet down, people are inside lit homes making dinner, as a teen I used to sit on our front steps and watch day turn to night.

Two clouds bump into each other in a basically cloudless sky... I like the blue around them, I like the shapes they form between them. It takes two to form those kind of shapes

I get nervous when I see clouds here in Colorado forming a solid wall of gray-green, listening for the ding of warning to take to the basement...

I was surprised that a poodle cloud showed up one day as I sat on the patio looking up

a freshly groomed cloud

I barely had time to run in for my camera before it started to morph into blobs, but I took a quick pic. I was happy that dh also saw the poodle. It's reassuring when another person sees what you see isn't it?

we all look up don't we? For something formed of water molecules, they sure are variable and fun to look at. I vaguely remember learning the names for types of clouds in junior high science but not enough to win at trivial pursuit. I just know it feels good and right to look up

as to the rest of the week... well nothing momentous. I cooked, cleaned, read, sewed, painted and watched tv shows. Sound familiar? I chatted with some friends, I ordered a ordered a no tresspassing sign in hopes it keeps the neighbors from jumping our fence into our yard despite begging them not to.

find dining

as to recipes.... I had some leftover angel hair cooked, so I sauteed the magic 5, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, garlic, fresh tomato and some ground ginger, using this art festival purchase

peel ginger root, swirl over the little plate to grate it
after that cooked, I added some cooking sherry,  the cooked pasta, some cubes of cheddar, heated and plated it with a piece of turkey bacon also left over. Add in a slice of homemade whole wheat with butter, great lunch!

I'm following three free online workshops in painting this week...

The temps have hovered around 100 and I HATE being hot. It's almost as hot here at 6000+ feet as in Arizona. Not what we expected but then lots of things have changed in the last 6 years.

The heat has drained me so I'll stop there and maybe keep a better list for next week.

Milo's Moments

hot, thank goodness my pawrents shaved me again. Oh I didn't appreciate it at the time, being only 2 weeks since last grooming not a month, but now I'm much cooler.

Mama: yeeeessss.... why do you grow hair so thick and fast my baby?

Milo: just talent Mama.   Hey, Mama, why don't you paint a picture of my ball so I can hang it in my kennel?

Mama: hmmmm well inspiration is everywhere isn't it?

please visit these folks to see what they liked this week, won't you?

great song and fun watching you cook! I still haven't received your email with the prompts but that is okay because I'm pretty busy these days. Scout has very thick hair too but she's not into balls the way Milo is. Have a great week!

Hot and miserable here too. But it's fall, so the cooler temps are near.

I've been doing a lot more reading lately too, especially as I recuperate from the hip replacement. Seems like I've used up my energy by mid afternoon most days.

It has definitely been HOT! Hopefully better temps coming, even tomorrow. Love the poodle cloud - great catch! Your lunch put together with leftovers sounds yummy!

I love your cloud pictures. So pretty! I'm looking at the clouds in your pictures but I have to admit I love the blue of the sky. One of my favorite colors! I love your leaf too!

Clouds and a favorite song...what a fun choice for today's blog. Hope it has cooled down. I need to start trimming Percy - he had a sore which prevented his grooming from getting finished. He's off to the vet on Monday, but I think it is mostly resolved. A few more incidents of peeing in the house...elderly dogs are really a challenge!
