moveaway giveaway

This is a random images post... with a giveaway!
It is Milo's day so he'll walk you through...
Milo:
I'm a poodle who respects women, especially women in the arts as my mama is an artist-type. That's why I am having some oatmeal in that bowl, cause mama went to the Women museum in DC. I didn't because I wasn't borned yet but also they don't like doggies inside I don't know why.
Anyway....

Mama has been anxious lately so it makes me anxious. I thought I could help her pack by giving away some of the Meeeelion art supplies she has hoarded bought over the years. (they came before I was born 7 months ago)

LeeAnna here: I will give this magical box of stamps, and inks and pens to a lucky winner who entertains and distracts me the most. Being a follower will help so let me know how you follow my little blog.

Tell me where you'd love to live in the USA if you could go anywhere. I am torn between Lake Placid in NY state and Santa Barbara CA. Of course I've not visited all the states yet but I know I love those.

I'll choose a winner at my whim, but Milo may have an influence.

Also, want to see what a crazed person went in the studio and put together in an hour? With scraps (from a friend) that could have been thrown out?
It's all flannel. I made the lumbar pillow out of the scraps I had, none went to waste, had just enough to put that flange/border. I quilted it to some waste batting. Then sewed some poly solid throwaway for the back, turned it inside out through an opening and sewed around the flange through all layers to finish. Before sewing the opening closed I stuffed it with fiberfill. Voila done.

Note my sock and legging, and my nail polish this morning! LOl.

Two winners were chosen and have been contacted. Thanks so much for entering and commenting, and there will be more giveaways to come so stay tuned!

Milo here:
Don't forget to distract Mama with your entries... she needs a good therapist too if you know one...

This is a wonderful way to recenter yourself, LeeAnn. I'm so glad you're coping skills are recharging. Hooray for you!

Milo, don't let her send that cr... er, stuff to our house. Downsizing, too. You are even too big for her to keep. It's a good thing you are such a good (!) boy.
I wish you could babysit for me while they are gone but it's too far a walk. Give mama a big sloppy kiss for me but don't give her any love bites today. She thinks you're learning to behave on that score. Keep her guessing.

Hi Milo, we are downsizing too. . . so we don't need anything more. But you are being very helpful to your mama. . .think you could come teach Bailey & Lacey some manners (like staying still for pictures!) LOL

I quite literally have no more storage space in my 960sq foot home. Nevertheless, I hope someone creative can do this box of goodies justice! Milo, you are so handsome! I can't get enough of you!

I would love to move back to New Mexico to be nearer my family in the mountains- it's so flat here! Han in there with the anxiety!

I would live in Del Mar California if I could live anywhere. I was there 5 years ago for my brother's wedding and fell in love with the place. The beach was down the hill from the resort and I spent all my spare time walking the beach. It was the end of November, but the water wasn't too cold for me who lives in Ohio. I was by myself most of the time except for a few surfers.

Hi Lee Anna,
Pretty little pillow - much nicer than throwing out those scraps. Hmm, if I could always thought I would like to live in Las Vegas (until recent events). Not so much for the gambling but the warm weather, no taxes, cool entertainment options all the time, and good quilt stores with a little golf cart to putter around in. Now that my great-nephew is here, I'm not moving! ~smile~ Roseanne

I would live in Astoria, Oregon. I love the ocean, but it doesn't have to be warm, sandy beaches, I love the rocky, cold, angry surf too. Unfortunately, my husband hates the rain and there are no jobs in my field there, but it's my heart home. This is not my story, but I find it a hugely funny distraction that I re-read every time we move. http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/11/dogs-dont-understand-basic-concepts.html

I am pretty sure I would not want to live in Lake Placid. It is simply gorgeous in the summer, but it is brutal in the winter. I used to live in central NY and honeymooned in Lake Placid. Jobs are not plentiful there either - unless you are in the tourist and hospitality industry.

I also have a hard time giving up scraps. I have taken to sewing them into 'something' and then throwing borders on and you have a service project quilt top (charity). It's fun for me to see what comes out of it, and if it's 'meh' to me that's ok too.

My girlfriend and I were talking about a boss we had when we were young engineers just out of college. Our boss did not know how to deal with us. He even had a daughter our age, but he could not relate to us. After we worked for him for a couple years, we began to look for new opportunities to grow our experiences. She found something first and gave her notice. And between the time of the notice and actually moving on, he would not talk to her directly. He would leave notes on her desk, even when she was right there. We thought it hilarious, and shortly after, I found my next opportunity and got the same treatment. It was all so bizarre.

I should add that when she and I got together recently, this came up in conversation and we both had a good laugh about it.

from Carol at quiltedfabricart who tried to leave this but blogger unexplainedly would not let her:

Ok, you know I love a challenge almost as much as I love art supplies.

The place I’ve always wanted to live is (drumroll please) - Colorado!
The mountains, the lakes, the hiking, fresh air, 4seasons and a vibrant textile and quilting artist scene.

Now for the distraction and entertainment:
Go to you tube and search for the song Rocky Mountain high. Remember that song? I wanted to run away with John Denver to Colorado back in the day. Not so much to Denver - to big of a city but to a smallish city like Boulder or. steamboat springs. Anyway listen to the full version (the first one with John’s cute face) and sing along with this revamped version.

Leeanna, she was born in the summer of her 60 something year
Coming home to a place she’d never been before
She left yesterday behind her, you might say she was born again
You might say she found a new dick blick store
When she first came to the mountains her life was a city girl
Smelling the smog and gagging every day
But the car’s already packed with all her art supplies
It keeps changing fast and she gave a lot away
But the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye
Rocky mountain high (Colorado)
She climbed cathedral mountains, with Milo and hubs in tow
She saw everything as far as you can see
And they say that she got crazy once when she lost her beloved Cole
And she lost a friend but kept his memory
Now she walks in quiet solitude with Milo in the woods and streams
Seeking grace in every step she takes
Her sight has turned inside herself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake
And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it raining fire in the sky
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply
Rocky mountain high
Now her life is full of wonder but her heart still knows some fear
Of changes she cannot fully comprehend
Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land
And the Colorado rocky mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
I know she’d be a poorer girl if she never saw an eagle fly
Rocky mountain high

What a great revamped song to Rocky Mountain High !
Hi LeeAnna!
I think I'll stay here, in The Netherlands!
Would love to visit you in Colarado some day!
Now, I have to go and listen to Rocky Mountain High again!
Hugs,
Joanne

Milo, I would love you to meet my 2 yr old Border Collie, Aria! She is totally adorable, playful, but shy. I live in northern MN and I don't think your mamma would want to live here. My self, I would return to Michigan where the apples and gardens great or to south eastern Ohio where the trees decorate streets beautifully. I would love to win the package. I am an art quilter wanna be! For entertainment I could play a little ditty on my flute-haha. Have fun enjoying this fall weather.

I have no idea how you made that pillow in just an hour. It would have taken me ages just to cut the squares...
Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty link Party and good luck with decluttering and moving.
