One reason was an abundance of blue scraps and he calls for many 2" squares, and boy do I have those already cut for watercolor quilts!!! Here is my chock-a-block box of them...
always ready to play with!! I adore this box of all colors ready to build backgrounds. I pulled out blue squares and divided them into light, medium and dark (first shot) Put back the mediums and then turned to the larger brighter medium blues to cut 3.5" squares.
Fun!
I even started sewing the opposite corners on, one light, one dark following the instructions,
except I sewed another line on the outside so when I cut off the excess I'd have teeny little one inch half square triangle squares for something, hee hee!
see the two blocks and the teeny little ones?
I don't know what this mystery will entail, but these little blocks are very usable anyway, and so much fun to pull out so many blues.
Of course the scrap bins won't close now that I pulled so many out.
here are a few of the ones sewn...
It's nice to see some prints I really like being used.
Life is in the details, right?

So many pretty blues and a nice start on the mystery quilt.
The blues are so bright and saturated, real gemstone quality.
Blue! What ever you make, you'll personalize it and it will turn out Gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing where this will take you!
sky and sea ...all the hues of blues! What fun to do a mystery quilt!! once when i had a baggie of cut offs like those, i joined them up and had a batch of Pinwheels for a baby quilt!
You really took Kevin's suggestion of "more is better" to heart, didn't you?! I found that I didn't have as many options as I would have expected. That means more repeats, but since I'm actually USING some of my scraps, it's all good!!
Awwww, soothing blues. My favorite color combo. Beautiful. Can't wait to see the final quilt.
Oh, that is very pretty. Of course... I think I LOVE anything done in blue!

Hi!
This month's color with soscrappy is blue!! OMG, I thought we were still on yellow. I guess that means I let a whole month go by. I intended to do blue last month since I had done yellow. Now I can do the blue.
