On our recent trip to Connecticut, (read about it here) I had a chance to hand baste some of my blue scraps to leaf papers.
I look through my scraps about the right size, and choose the ones with the most impact to me.
I have enjoyed the process, and seeing a random scrap polished off into a nice shape like this, really showcases the fabrics. It's like shining a light on each design! link to order them https://www.paperpieces.com/
Now for some layouts...
I am in love with this batik behind the layouts. I only bought two yards so I am using it in many projects but wish I had a bolt!
So... I pulled out the leaf pile...
and was amazed at all the leaves I've basted! Leaves, or petals, or feathers, or geometric shapes.
The possibilities are endless and we're not finished with the challenge yet!

You could make a color wheel with that leaf pile. Lovely!
I'm loving that background batik too! Any layout you place on it will be spectacular.
I've seen several quilts lately (some are older I think) that are made of blocks of stem and leaves. Not a bar quilt. I'm mulling that over myself. Surprised to find I'm liking leaves more than flowers these days.
It is going to be an awesome quilt! Hope to do some applique today.
How fun to switch them around from leads to feathers to petals. Bravo.
Wow! LeeAnna! Think of all the possibilities! Your creative spirit is in high gear! And we're only in July a few more colorful months to go!
love it... specially the one blue with the golden "suns" is fabulous... wish I had such a dress ;o)
Your leaves are gorgeous. Wonder what you will do with them all? lol Can't wait to see
You could play with those leaves for months and always finds something new. Their shape is so graceful, like a dancer's tutu.
So many possibilities with these leaves for arrangements. Love these blue ones!
I'm such a sucker for blues and yours are yummy!
*Love* all of those leaves together! Great garden!
all those leaves are gonna make something awesome. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and your compliment. Have a great weekend!
I didn't realize how many you'd made! Such a lovely shape to play with. I especially like that vine setting - what a garden you could make!
So much fun to see the whole collection! I love that batik in the background, too!
Lovely leaves.
So many fun and creative leaves;)
I agree, that background batik is a stunner. Perfect for showcasing your leaves. Why is it we only know we should have bought a bolt of the fabric after it is no longer easily available?
Lots of pretty BLUE scraps there!!
Wow your leaves are gorgeous!
So beautifully done and presented! Thankful you shared! So inspiring!
OOh, lots of possibilities with those leaves!!!
I love the last layout you tried. Such a great collection of fabrics. This project really showcases each fabric.
What a wonderful assortment, full of possibilities!
love your blue arrangments :) All beautiful.
Oh wow that is a lot of beautiful leaves.
How about a tree of life? Have it somewhere in a book, a huge tree with a couple hundred leaves--and I love it! Dreamed on making one.
What a fun project! Can't wait to see what your layout will be!
Those blues look amazing together and in that beautiful batik!
Thanks for showing all of the different layout variations. I would have a tough time choosing, and would probably make more leaves to make all versions! But then, putting them with all the other colors sure makes for a lovely fall display. Thank you for sharing these inspiring ideas!
So many leaves, I can't wait to see what you decided to make with them! Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty link Party. Pinned!
