Yellow scrap road to happiness

The color of the month at the Rainbow scrap challenge is yellow!  (link to latest post finished blocks)
Glorious Yellow! I LOVE yellow! I'll be showing you some of my yellow quilts this month.
I didn't find out til we got home yesterday, so I quick grabbed a chance to sew while baby Milo was napping

got out the yellow scrap bin. Why am I so choosy with scraps!?? I'll pass one by because it's too large to "waste" on this, or too cute. I mean why not use the cute ones?
I am planning to play again with drunkard's paths this time mixed with pieced squares, and possibly 9 patches. All with shades of yellow, from dark to light, from bright to dull, from greenish to reddish, with other colors printed in. All of them together make a quilt sparkle.

This is how it starts... components... and lots of them. What fun sewing is!

Very cute! Yellow is one of those colors that I don't use very often. So it's usually pretty sparse in my stash. But you have some really fun choices here.

Girl, you are having too much fun playing with those yellow scraps. I like the quarter circles against the scrappy pieced backgrounds.

I love using sewing crumbs to make parts of a block. And yes, yes, do use the cute ones. They add smiles to faces when we look at the quilt afterwards. Enjoy the yellow fun! ;^)

Since the title of your blog is "Not Afraid of Color", I knew that you would have to have a lot of yellows! They all look so bright and cheery. Love them all.

Such a fun collection of yellows and the perfect color for summer. I'm not sure if this is the month we receive the most sun during the summer - maybe July? - but yellow makes me think summer and it starts in June. ~smile~ Roseanne

Ooh, I have some of that yellow taxi fabric. I sent some string blocks to Cynthia Brunz ehich included yellows and I was thinking they looked too mellow. I forgot I had the taxis.

I love a drunkards path block! All that yellow...so warm, sunny and happy. I tend to pass on large scraps when I'm piecing small things!

Yellow can be such a warm, welcoming color. What delightful prints: dogs, butterflies, bugs. Thanks for linking with Kaleidoscope of Butterflies.

Cute, cute fabric... and I have some of the same cuteness... but not the counting sheep! You are ahead of the game with these done.

Yea for yellow! I agree with you! I love how you pieced that one "pie" part of your Drunkard's Path block! Awesome idea! You always teach me so much! You know, my RSC blocks were inspired by a string tutorial you did! Thank you for sharing!

WOW we are having fun what a lovely bright blog to visit first thing in the morning it's made my day, never though to add 1/4 circles to pieced block like that but wow what impact it has, adds so much more movement and makes those pieced block pieces sparkle. You have set my mind reeling in all directions LOL Yesterday I made scrappy strip diamonds and it was such fun just pulling a strip at random because it popped out at me no thinking just painting with fabric it wa ssuch fun. Hugs Glenda
