I Like Thursday # 297

welcome to this week's list of likes, focusing on the positive not all the worrisome things that happened.

The above sketchbook rendering was a result of watching two wonderful women on video, LINK HERE  Elizabeth Gilbert and Martha Beck discuss life and living it with integrity as women. They said the caterpillar must liquify itself in the cocoon to emerge as the butterfly it was meant to be.

I painted and drew a lot this week, with my friend Joyfulquilter, using prompts

and tried this from a favorite teacher, Diane Antone (tutorial here

speaking of beautiful things...

I love the blog: Beatrice Euphamie  and she had these quotes this week along with so many beautiful home images of decorations and food and landscapes

"What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you say."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson-

"Character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you."
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe-

"Reputation is what men and women think of us;
character is what God and Angels know of us.
-Thomas Paine-

Fine Baking

orange cake

for birthday month... orange cake by preppy kitchen which I won't link to as it had NO orange flavor

and the wonderful chocolate cake that is pure indulgence

which this pic doesn't do justice to...that's a thick layer of icing...(https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/buttermilk-cocoa-cake/) moist and decadent but easy to make

listened to a couple books but this is currently playing in the studio

and reading this 14th installment in series on ebook. Please don't request it as I need time to read it!!!

we enjoyed watching this stage production on PBS

I LOVE your happy sheep artwork! You look so comfy, Milo. Stay cool!

I had the same thing people telling me it won't allow them to comment. I love your sheep. When it comes to orange or lemon I have actually started buying extracts which are from cake shops, they are denser and seem to have much more flavor. I love your paintings and drawings they give me joy, and your fabric projects always are gorgeous.

I especially like the vase of flowers. And looking at the chocolate cake. Usually I like Preppy Kitchen recipes, but I have not used a lot of his baking recipes. I did do an I LIKE post, but I cannot comment from my iPad. I prefer to read blogs from my iPad, it's just more comfortable. But some blogs say, yours included, say "sign in with Goggle", then just re-open your post. No comment allowed. Not all are like that. It's a puzzle.

Happy birthday month! Your chocolate cake looks yummy - perfect for celebrating. I love seeing your weekly artwork, too. Waiting for my next Elly Griffiths book - I'm 1 of 1 on the list so it should be any time now!

Love your journaling art and am smitten with the vase of flowers. Chocolate cake would be hard for me to resist - I would eventually eat the whole thing. In 2 days! haha! Thanks for the sweet shout-out! xx Love how your quilting is coming together. Sending hugs xo K

What impressive art. So glad you are following those instructions and instructors.

Milo looks HOT. I missed the PBS special.

Have you checked your comments to see if you have spam? I have removed so many of the spam messages daily from people who leave me comments daily.

I was in MI over the weekend, so I'm behind again. Loved the polar bear cub and I'll need to try that chocolate cake when I need a dish to pass (too much for one person to eat, even if I loved chocolate).
I know other people have had trouble with comments lately. Some of the conflict seems to be with people using iPads and non-gmail accounts.
