I Like Thursday #277

are you looking out or am I looking in?
Welcome to this week's list of likes... Christmas 2021 is over, we've eaten well, watched a few movies, and talked about the future. I love lights so I am keeping the lights on in the house for a while.

I wrote a post yesterday about my word/goals for next year and have received the best comments ever... I felt so much less alone after those people reached out to me with understanding in comments or private emails. From my heart, thank you for your grace and friendship. HERE

I like these peppermint patties better than any I've ever had!

I like clinique lipsticks so I got these as a Christmas special item

aren't they pretty?

The cookie making contest favorite for me at our house was the candy cane cookies (link: https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/candy_cane_cookies/)

Best show new to me is Madam Blanc on Prime

books I'm listening to and reading on ebook

reading :   audio:

I'd like to read it but long wait time and short ability to read at night so I'll hear it! Book 1 was great

tv shows

The Great British Baking show holiday edition was so much fun. Emily in Paris is back, Virgin River is on our list. Happily This is Us is returning but sadly for it's last chapter. Oy.

I like mama's snuggle blanket best but the fox one was my very first puppy gift!

Milo's Moments

I'm going into the new year a sad, hurting pup. My pawrents called a vet to come to our house and by now he's done something to me. Both ears and the poop shoot are sick but I still love my lamb food, my new Christmas chicken, my treat toys and new Salmon Treats in it. One night Daddy was so slow to go up to the big bed, so I put myself in the big bed, for the first time ever.

Earlier Mama went to bed during daylight from a migraine and I went up there to watch over her. She pushed the chair to the bed so I could jump down myself so I remembered it was there and used it to climb in the big bed alone that night. That was weird but okay. When I was 5 months old I got a rip in my shoulder tendon from a neighbor's dog who hurted me. My shoulder is kinda weak for jumping.

Mama said to call it an old football injury whatever that is.

please visit these people with lists of likes to share too. If you write a post let me know to include you

May 2022 bring us peace and good health, meaning and connection. Love, LeeAnna

I'm leaving lights up longer too - because they are cheerful. My pencil tree is in the dining room where I can see if from my desk in the office. It may stay there but without the few little Christmas touches. Currently reading the second book in the Door County Quilts series. Only 3 total so far, but I'm enjoying the characters and location.

I love the Christmas lights, too, both inside and outside! I'm always kind of sad when they're all taken down. The See's peppermint patties sound yummy! I'm sorry Milo's been under the weather - hope he's getting better each day.

I LOVE Sees candies, so it would only seem right that they would create a great peppermint, too. I also absolutely love Clinique. I use their facial products, but don't wear lipstick or even makeup now that we wear masks.

Sorry to read about poor Milo. I hope he gets better soon, dear. I also like the lights in the neighborhood, although I have already put mine away for the year. Happy 2022. Let's hope it's better than the past two.

Hi LeeAnna and Milo, too! See's candy is just the best. We can't get it here and we can't go where we used to get it, like Vegas. I'm so glad you are enjoying the chocolate and the lights. We took our tree and village down and now the house looks so bare. I miss the lights and enjoy them, too! Here's to a fabulous 2022. {{Hugs}} a bunch for you. ~smile~ Roseanne

I hope Milo is soon feeling better!
And thanks for the post earlier this week, I so identified with much of it. I appreciate the courage it took for you to write that and I have huge admiration for you.
Life in the time of covid is challenging enough, without all the usual life stuff. It can be pretty easy to become overwhelmed. Some days are better than others.
I hope that your 2022 is wonderful for you! Hugs!

Oh, I hope Mile feels better soon! I love Clinique too! I think it's nice to leave the lights up. It certainly brightens up these dark winter days. I hope you don't feel alone, LeeAnna. You've brought so many of us bloggers together. You've been our friend for years. Times are tough but your friends are here for you too!

Oh See's candy! It is from Oregon. I watched a guy on Tik Tok who showed how to make peppermint patties, it looked fun. Took a chance to read your previous post. It is so hard to focus on good anymore, and I will agree there are times it is so hard to find the good. Which is why it is so important that we do the I Like Thursdays. Oh Milo hope you feel better.

Hi LeeAnna. Your posts are always a highlight for me seeing what you are creating, reading, cooking or sharing. Milo can always bring a smile, but it’s so sad to hear is not feeling well. I just went back to read your last post since I am behind on my reading. Our backgrounds are so similar that I can empathize with everything you write. See’s chocolates are just the best. They are one of the things I miss most about not travelling. Happy New Year my friend. I’m just telling myself over and over that 2022 has to get better. 🥂🎉

I have a string of lights we keep up a little longer. I am trying to remember where See's is from, but now I am really wanting a peppermint patty. My favorite restaurant used to have a Peppermint Patty Martini - that was clear. Funny, no one can remember the recipe. Looking forward, too, to This Is Us, but I am not surprised it is the end.

Have a wonderful start to 2022 LeeAnna. And that wish goes for Milo too. I love reading your post today too, and I hope the migraine is gone and Milo isn't in too bad of shape.

My Christmas lights stay up until just before Valentines Day. I love the lights in the winter. Bummer about Milo - I hope you both feel better.

Best wishes for 2022.

I'm surprised your vet was willing to make a house call and glad he/she did. Hope Milo is okay. I saw on tonight's news that there are bad wildfires near Boulder. I hope the smoke isn't coming your way and that Diann is not in the danger zone.

Hope your migraine is gone and Milo is feeling better - it is always stressful when our fur-babies are hurting. Sounds like he is being well-taken care of, and you are comforting each other. I thought of you when I heard about the scary wildfires and hope they get them under control soon. The books sound good. Wishing you all good and happy things in the coming new year. x K

After the past couple of years, I think Christmas lights should stay up all year long, just for a little jolt of happiness that we all need. Hope your migraine has passed and Milo is better soon!

Hi LeeAnna, got tears in my eyes reading your last post. I feel so much of what you have written to be true for us too as Canadians. I'm discouraged and I know I have to keep up the positivity. A new year always means hope. Can't lose that. Cheers to your little family from me and my little family too.

Extending holidays lights makes even more sense this year after such a trainwreck of a year. May light shine brightly on your house and in your heart.

LeeAnna, Happy New Year! Sorry to hear that Milo is hurting. Poor guy! I have been totally out of touch with everything and every one, but I’m looking forward to catching up. And maybe to start blogging again more than twice a year….

Hi Leeanna, I sincerely hope this year is going to be a better one for you. Reading your previous post, you have been through a lot. It can almost not be any worse than this year! I'm glad you are trying to stay positive. That's the spirit, girl!
In Europe, Christmas decorations and light stay on until Epiphany/Three Kings on the 6th of January, but I will be loathe to take them down. I like all the lights. I shall keep a few inside the house though. I have these fake candles (electronic, I recharge them each night). I plan to keep those in our living room.
Poor Milo. I'm so sorry he is poorly. You have a great vet that even comes out to you, so I'm sure he/she will do his/her best.
Happy New Year dear friend, may this year be better for all of us.
Hugs,
Lisca
