paint party friday poinsettia

this is not how I planned to paint a poinsettia
but I sat down with my paints, inks, water and brushes and that's what came out this time...
We eat too much take out, but this was the top of my olive garden salad container, two little compartments that cried out to be used painting, one to keep clean, one to use for rinsing
that's it...

for now.... sewing tomorrow, more painting on fabric for next week!

  1. Hi LeeAnna :) Your poinsettia is lovely! Oh and what a great idea about the take out container!!

  2. I think your poinsettia is very pretty! The color is so perfect. Red poinsettias are so much prettier than the unicorn colors I saw yesterday at my local supermarket. Purple and turquoise just don't say "Christmas" to me.

  4. Well that's just damn brilliant. I should have talked to you and Susie before I got my little cousin some art supplies for Christmas. Your painting turned out quite well I think and I like the inking. If you, Susie Mac and I got together I think I'd laugh so hard my teeth would fall out.

  6. Hi LeeAnna,
It's fun how things just turn out!
You did a great job creating all those different shades of red!

  8. The container is a score in my book. I bet I have something like that around here. I like your poinsettia rendering with the subtle shades of red. Very cool, LA!

  9. Glad to see you're painting poinsettias. Is there anyone who doesn't appreciate their brilliance at this darkening time of year?
