I liked the shadow a tree cast on our morning walk... the sun is intense here in the high desert!
and the sky is blue

17 most beautiful stairs around the world
I was researching for my upcoming challenge inspired by great artists, with the theme 1+1=3.
I ran across a different challenge, wowie! I wish I'd know about it back in 2013, enjoy!

look at this one from one of the group
Lovely, and just a beautiful blog! So much color and interesting collages!

While researching this topic, Three muses, I found the Take a Word challenge
http://takeaword.blogspot.com/
Oh this is very stimulating. It's paper collage, and paint, and words, and I can adapt this prompt to my writing or quilting. I may not be ready with supplies to do it just yet but I will. And just thinking about what you'd make is fun too right?
I sketched out two quilts for Alida's challenge already. It's more than I usually have to go on!
I used to be self conscious of my drawings, but now I embrace them and quite like them.
I like this Purchase at the recent Home show (link to that fun post HERE)
It's a pottery grater about 4" in diameter. The demonstrator was grating ginger, garlic, lemon zest, spices, and more. The bottom of the little plate is rough pottery, all glazed. It came with a garlic peeler, and a little brush to push the zest out. He said, grate a garlic clove, pour in olive oil for a dipping sauce. Well, Yeah...
I have been watching DVD's from the library to catch up on movies. I saw two this week.
Norman
An odd film... Richard Gere is good in it, and most of the movie I was wondering just what was going on. I didn't truly figure it out til the end... a surprise ending. I think I liked it... not sure.
Learning to Drive
Oh how I enjoy Ben Kingsley. About an Indian man who was granted political asylum in America. He ended up forming a close bond with one of his driving students. I loved the slow relationship build up between a woman going through a life change and this man. I also loved the intense feelings shared by them. It was surprisingly intensely romantic for a movie where the characters never so much as kissed.
The love was shown in a gesture, a kind word or deed. There is so much love to be shared in life that has nothing to do with sexual activity. I thought about the characters and their interactions for days after.
Sandy sent a link to this blog, and here is a post I loved https://paperponderings.blogspot.com/
On today's post she had a quote that resonated, so that I wrote it down in my calendar.
"“We have art in order not to die of the truth.”" Friedrich Nietzsche
Milo liked meeting a cat on our morning walk. The cat got off his porch to greet us, and stopped short of Milo who was straining at the leash (the one we bought because it would stop dogs pulling at the leash, yeah right)
See the black and white cat??? |
Milo: OMD, A cat up close and personal! I've been meaning to play with a cat! It's on my bucket list along with chew up all leashes, and collect all rocks!
Please visit these fine folks keeping it positive today! And consider joining us... keep a list of your likes all week and do a post on Thurs. Let me know!

Hi LeeAnna,
Aww, poor Milo. No barking or biting and still getting Halloween kitty?! That's wrong. Those stairs are fabulous! You haven't mentioned looking at any houses lately - no luck in that arena I assume? ~smile~ Roseanne
What an inspiring post! I follow Bored Panda on Facebook and I'm usually surprised about what they find and it's so fun. I can't decide which of those stairs art is my favorite. I have always liked Ben Kingsley. I just watched "Gandhi" again for about the 4th time. I'll need to find that movie as well. Have a great day! mary in Az
Norman looks like an interesting film. Love those stairs! The bowl looks pretty neat, too. Milo needs to tell that kitty not to be such a scaredy-cat!
The three muses is brilliant! I am glad it is priming your pump.
I'd be interested in seeing the back side of the grater. It sounds fascinating.
Love the strong shadows. especially in the photo of the pooch.
I wonder would Rex like a Murphy bed for dogs as you showed in the last post. Our Murphy should like it! I just have to check out these links as I'm trying in my own small way to get more creative artistically. There is an abundance of inspiration to be found and I have to explore. Thanks, LeeAnna.
You always find interesting blogs and links to check out - thanks for sharing them. That bowl is so pretty! Even if it wasn't useful for grating it would be fun to have!
That Nietzsche quote is so apropos. Enjoy creating with that those inspiring challenges. I broke out the watercolors yesterday and am having a blast even if I'm a little bit more than challenged at how to do it properly. 😊🎨
Wow on that grater, and now you've got me going to write down that art quilt (SO true!) as soon as I hit send... I wrote up a post today! Had likes all February but no time to write my post.
That tree shadow and those stairs are amazing! Hey Milo, I'd be nice to you, I like doggies! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
So much inspiration in your blog today ... I am going right over to the couch to jump into my embroidery project! (Also a big fan of Ben Kingsley and loved that movie!)
so many great finds! love the bowls and those stairs!! always makes me happy to see milo! i could barely see that kitty!
Those stairs and those Mountain View’s - just wow!
Hi LeeAnna,
Those stairs! Thanks for the link!
great likes and shadows!
How I love shadow pictures! Those stairs are amazing! Can you imagine painting them? Very nice photos! Ohhhh, how I love a good dipping sauce - now I need to find a delicious gluten-free bread to go with it! :) Poor Milo! Maybe he'll meet a friendly cat soon....
What a great post (I'm a day late again and need to find time to follow all your links). I'm glad to see your creative juices flowing again. That stairs art would make a wonderful table runner or quilt. We've moved on to Winter Haven for a week. Sunshine but the coolest weather we've had so far.
Pat
That sky - those mountains! They would be on my list every week.
Wonderful variety of photos ~ love the amazing colorful stairs!
Happy Weekend to you,

Great likes and websites! Scout does the same thing with the pulling. I use a harness and it helps a little (Ruffwear: attach the leash to the front of the dog). Have a great week!
Beautiful snow capped mountains and blue sky!!
Remembering your likes in a week, cool. A growing experience. Thanks for the challenge links!
Great photos! I love those steps...I've seen them before. Your picture of it though is awesome.
Love your photos. The sky is so beautiful and blue, and the shadow....even of you and Milo walking are awesome. Neat kitchen acquisition.
Hello, Some dogs and cats are just not meant to get along. I am not sure why, the dislike? I like your tree shadow shot. Pretty view of the mountains. I miss having a dog to walk, maybe we will have another dog soon. Thank you so much for linking up your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
trying this again, I think I hit the wrong button. I think I logged off instead of hitting Publish. Oh boy, so many buttons so little time. Anyway I was commenting about the dog pulling on a leash. We have a harness that has a clip in the middle of the chest. It has cut way down and even elmimated the pulling aspect of walking your dog. We also have to clip a leash to our's collar as he doesn't start walking until it's clipped on. So funny he does this, but it does allow for extra safety in case one of the leashes becomes unclipped. I really like your blog. I found it through a friends' blog. She recommended reading yours,, so I have been. Have a nice day.
Your sky is so blue! It's so grey here that a clear day would really lift the spirits.
Great list of likes - I'm in love with the beautiful steps. Wow!
I love that shadow tree on the sidewalk too. Makes me think about so many cracks that could break your mother's back, a nursery rhyme from my youth. Gonna look for those stairs.
Those stairs are amazing! So glad you shared that info.
It's so funny to think about the curiosity of Milo yet because he's young.
I am with everyone else, those stairs are incredible! Have a lovely week.
I loved the part about Milo, probably because our vet who makes house calls was here to check out our Bonnie and do her shots. Dog stories, long or short, always make me smile. I also love the tree shadow. When the moon was full a while back, my husband got some photos of the tree shadows on the snow in our back yard. Thanks for this interesting post, especially Milo!

Those stairs are gorgeous!
The blog are the best that is extremely useful to keep.
I can share the ideas of the future as this is really what I was looking for,
I am very comfortable and pleased to come here. Thank you very much!
