The weather is bizarre, we've had both snow and nearly 70F temps this week.
What better thing to do than find the little things to like this week, but before that, I am sad to the core about school shootings.. 23 people killed or injured
at 13 school shootings in the last three months alone. The vast majority of American's want some kind of limits put on firearms, including people who own guns. and yet...
now on with the things I found to like this week...
Sketchbook Revival lessons
I'm enjoying painting and drawing again, that post will be tomorrow or Saturday but a sneak peak:
on ebook from prime, The Singing Trees and gosh I love Boo Walker's prose, characters, and storytelling...
on audio books
recommended by Rosemary one of our I Like people at knittingquilter
I loved the last book by this author and am engrossed already in this story with character development
I just finished this one by Ellery Adams and loved it, about story telling, a mystery, and authors angst
we saw two movies on netflix
"Your place or mine", with Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon... what happened to his face? and we enjoyed it but not a lot
"Love Guaranteed" a quirky story about a man suing a dating site because he dated many women and didn't fall in love... til.... our review? meh... didn't change the channel and I highly enjoyed Damon Wayans handsome face but predictable.
sorry not to have a rave but some you win, some you lose, some don't leave an impression
Watching on youtube
if only people looked for love not differences, nice video ....
would you rather find companionship and love or fight? Me? companionship all the way!
Watching on the short videos:
love.... sharing love isn't hard to do
ya gotta pay the cheese tax every time you're cookin' (still laughing)
from newsletter Cup of Jo
I loved this image ... awe I hope milo feels this way too
prompt this week: do you make a special baked good for Easter? For example, Rugalach or hot cross buns? Have a story about this or a recipe to share?
|Our recent batch of amaretti cookies made with almond flour|
hot cross buns
those are from a previous year but I'm getting ready to make more!
lime tarts from the recipe at Taste of Home
amaretti cookies, check!
rugalach I haven't made some exactly but a Christmas cookie I made was similar... wish me luck
peanut butter eggs from this recipe, but with almond butter
Milo here... about easter bunnies... yep I'd like an easter bunny to play with...
Mama: oh, they are chocolate honey, not good for healthy doggies
Milo: who said I wanted a chocolate one. heh heh. As to treats, I'll just have one of those amaretti cookies please, since they are almond flour not wheat. A side of whipped cream too.
I'm late to the party, but I did join Sketchbook Revival. I'm not sure how many I'll do... there are so many fun choices!
I really love your lights and roses! Ah that kitty/doggy video is so sweet. We had a cat who thought she was a dog - followed us around anytime we hiked around our property at the time. I'd rather have love and companionship than conflict but we actually have both - lol - and have for our 53 years together. ;) Thanks for hosting, LeeAnna!
the tarts are super.. and everything is gonna be alright is my daily mantra ;O)
Your colorful painting makes me think of tulips - so pretty! I liked another book by Celeste Ng - I'll have to find this new one. You have some yummy Easter baking ahead of you! Love the drawing of Milo - hehe!
I am enjoying Sketchbook Revival as well but haven't done a lot. Cheese tax was pretty cute!
I so enjoy your roundup of things to share every Thursday. All delightful and delicious too..Lime Divine Tarts for instance. We have been watching and sometimes rewatching the Oscar movie section on Netflix. Pretty much guaranteed a good show and for us some watched many decades ago are forgotten now. Amazing the number of folks offering free painting/drawing lessons online. What a time to be alive!
Your Easter baking plans sound delicious! I recently bought a jar of cashew/almond/cinnamon spread. Kind of like peanut butter but a bit looser, and really yummy! Also bought a fig jam that was delicious too.
We went to see Champions with Woody Harelson this week. It was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Very heart warming, and the young actors were so amazing.
Wow! Beautiful art to see and to eat! Thank you for sharing
How horrible about the latest school shooting. Your art is so pretty and always fun, love the MiloBunny! Oh, yum on the food goodies. Milo, I hope you get several cookies just for being a good boy. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I wish I live closer to you, the Easter Baker Extraordinaire! Lime Tarts, how Devine! I’m checking that one out!
Your mantel is gorgeous! I love the art you create, and the food you share....I get so hungry. I think Milo surely can have one of those cookies! And, with all my heart, I know Milo feels the same about you as that cartoon!
I like your lights and roses. Wow that is crazy weather. Those amaretti cookies look really good.
Those rose lights are so pretty, LeeAnna! Glad to hear that you're enjoying your paints again. Have fun making those tasty treats!
So many ideas from your blog today! I'm inspired to find some flowers and lights for my mantel too. It really needs something and that will look great. And I wasn't even thinking of dessert for Easter but I think I need to get all creative now with finding something that might fit into my eating regime. Happy day!
Your lights and roses are so pretty. I won’t be baking anything special for Easter but we do enjoy bought hot cross buns.
So glad you like the book! I still don't know what we're having for Easter dinner. We always decide late! I'm so sick of these school shootings. I just don't know what can be done. I love seeing your paintings. So fun to have find free online classes!
I love your rose lights. Very beautiful.
I have no plans for Easter yet. I'm not really in the mood to make any cookies expecially if I'm going to be on my own.
Have a lovely weekend,
Love the watercolor of Milo Xo
