I Like Thursday # 302

this week's list of likes is short... I like our flowering bushes (not our allergic reactions) and it's summertime in the Mile High. Hot and getting hotter.

I've enjoyed painting this week, three samples of floral pictures...

and sewing this week, the embroidery workshop is going on all week...even on paper!(more onSat)

combining a love of painting and sewing

I did a workshop on meditation, growth, and writing with Kelly Blaser this week, and at one point we all discussed the concept of "wait..." sometimes you must wait for answers or healing...

because it's hot and summer and lemocello was made for times like these...

 the prettiest rendition...

love this song, never knew the name. Caravan... makes me want to paint in long strokes.

Milo's Moments

Milo: we had an adventure this week! Daddy started playing with that scrary twirling thing that spins over my head every night. I decided if he was gonna kill it I had to be there!!!

Daddy: Milo it's a fan, it helps cool us at night

Milo: well it's scary! I look up at it all the time to make sure it stays up there, however it stays up there while moving around!!

Heyyyy, I'm on the big bed before Mommy! better stake out my claim now! Mine!

Hope you visit these peeps who have lists to share too!

You talking about your workshop on meditation and growth I recently saw a short post by someone who talked about waking up with intention. Many people when they awake, are instantly thinking negative thoughts, about family, work, chores to do, etc. She now tries to wake up and think of positive things, things she is thankful for, she swears it changes up your whole mindset for the day. Was Drew fixing the ceiling fan? I will admit, my upstairs bedroom I put in a window A/C but there is a ceiling fan too, and when I go to bed I turn it on, it does help keep that room cooler at least. Your flower paintings are lovely as well as your embroidery. Thanks for sharing the beautiful music, now Caravan I always think of the vehicles used by the Romany....that is what happens when you read books set a 200 years ago. LOL

Your bushes are lovely, but I'm so sorry about the allergies!! I very much sympathize. I love seeing your embroidery, the rose is especially lovely. I've been doing more embroidery the last few years and really enjoying it. Right now I'm doing a wheel of the year embroidery project where you get a new small embroidery pattern every six weeks or so (for 8 in the year) corresponding to the Celtic wheel of the year. It's been so fun, the projects are small but manageable and the whole thing comes together in the end. It's like block of the month but more fun for me. Hugs to Milo, glad he was there to protect your DH from the ceiling fan!

Love all the colors in today's post.

I love Milo and he made me chuckle with his take on that monster fan.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to Milo. ♥

Your water colors this week are amazing - beautiful! I really like the delicacy of the drawing in the yellow one. I'd frame that one and hang it!

Love your flower paintings this week. And Milo standing on the bed "helping" Drew is a hoot! I'm sure he is an excellent snoopervisor.

Your flower watercolors are so cheery and my favorite colors. It's hot, hot, hot here, so I'm just sitting in front of the fan trying to stay cool.

Pretty flowering bushes and lovely paintings! Wilbs doesn't like our ceiling fan if we turn it up too high. We have two and he keeps an eye on them!

Hi,
I really like your paintings...very pretty. Lemonade sounds really good.
I'll have to get some lemons and make some. Milo's adventure with the
ceiling fan is funny...but I have to agree with him. The ceiling fan we
got, I kept watching it to make sure it didn't fall down...ha ha.
Have a great cool day!

Hi LeeAnna! Boy, I think it is HOT everywhere. At least, it has been with record humidity, too. UCK. Your flowering bushes are pretty as is your painting! Waiting and patience is hard to do for most people, but I've always found the answer is there for you if you wait for it. The band Chicago did a great version of Caravan and other Big Band songs like String of Pearls, Night and Day, and Moonlight Serenade. I highly recommend listening to it - but I'm a big fan of their body of work. Milo!! Great job on being on deck should the twirly thing give anyone a hard time. I'm certain that was a bit scary but you took one for the team. {{Hugs}} a whole bunch! ~smile~ Roseanne

It's hot here too. We have ceiling fans in every room (no air conditioning as we built our house ourselves so our house is super insulated and cool). But... the ceiling fan in the lounge needs cleaning. There is a bio-burner in the room and that causes a thin film of I-don't-know-what on the ceiling and the fan. Can Drew come over and help me with that one?
I had to smile at Milo's attitude to the fan. At least he was staking out his place on the bed!
I haven't played the songs yet as my hubby is sleeping and I don't want to wake him up.
Have a lovely weekend,
Stay cool and keep smiling,
Hugs,
Lisca

Pretty gardens! Inside and out. When I grow up, I want to paint watercolor flowers as beautiful as you do!! :o))

LeeAnna - I like your paintings, especially the subtle colors of the third one. "Waiting/abiding" - so hard to do, but sometimes it is the right answer!!!

Your garden is really blooming! One of my friends has continued to mask up as she realizes it helps keep her allergies at bay. Your floral paintings are so lovely…very delicate looking.
You are so right about waiting….healing takes time.
Thank God for ceiling fans!
Happy painting, sewing and reading this week!

Beautiful blossoms everywhere - in the yard, on paper, on fabric. You are an artist!!

Poor Milo. Sometimes those whirly-gig things get crazy and fly off the ceiling. Be careful, baby!!
