I Like Thursday # 301

welcome to this week's short list of likes. I love that this wildflower seed took root at the end of last summer and came up unexpectedly in the rocks in front of the planter. What perseverance that took, and will to live, not to mention bringing beauty into the world. Thank you.

so I'm busy in several art workshops this week, and exhausted but wanted to at least check in with you all and say I'm grateful for you as well as mention a couple likes...

I'm doing the index card a day challenge with prompts and LOVE working in this format. This was from day 6 prompt "daydream"  I love her humanity... and a couple years ago I didn't think I could draw. I've worked at it and love drawing now.

Root
I love the post CLICK HERE I wrote spontaneously this week about the word Root, and would love you to read it and tell me what you think...

I am writing on the back of these cards daily, and it's been wonderful to do, a real record

One day at the computer, I looked up and the sun cast a shadow past my plants onto the far wall... wowie, what a cool moment. I grabbed my camera just in time...the earth keeps turning (because it's round, yes it is) so it was like a tiny momentary gift for me

I have made good friends through this blog... and love to be able to send my daily paintings to a few of them for feedback... and I learned about Austin Kleon from Angela, new to the I Like group...

I not only signed up for the free friday letter but another one too that's new to me, and very creative

comments are still hit or miss.I live for them but ... sometimes they come to blogger but not to the blog, or maybe a lot get really lost. Sad. Technology changes seldom are better for me, I don't know what the techies did but if you really want to reach me, and I'd love that, please email. Addy is on the side somewhere up there=>

We sowed wildflower seeds into big patio pots and they are starting to sprout, hope they are as exuberant as last year!

We're reading, watching shows on tv, and eating but nothing outstanding today...

I still love color...

if you truly love nature you will find beauty everywhere... V. Van Gogh and my acrylic abstract

Milo's moments

Milo: it's hot. I'm hot. but I am playing with my new toy...

there is a squeaker in every leg! They set the challenge by calling it indestructible... of course it's been in this house for a couple weeks and still has it's legs! (mama ordered it from amazon) and every night now I want some rabbit treats hidden in my wishbone so I can get them out! Whee!

that's about it for us this week, please visit these humans with I Like lists too!

I love the surprise plants that come up unexpectedly - especially if they bloom! Your card a day art challenge sounds perfect for you. Milo's new toy looks perfect for him, too - hope it continues to be indestructible!

I love your photo of the wildflower! That first paragraph was so beautiful! Your index drawing is lovely- her expression is right on. That’s a great idea to write a bit on the back of each card. What a wonderful journal that is! What does serendipitous moment to catch that photo!

The shadow photo is quite amazing! It's art in itself. And I really do love the idea of the daily index card - art on one side and writing on the other. Very clever. I would have enjoyed using a similar technique when I was still teaching HS language arts. It would have been a fun change from just journaling.

Hi Lee Anna,
I love seeing all your art and the colors you use, it gives me inspiration
for my quilts. Colors I never thought to mix. Your nature drawing is
beautiful! And I really like your root drawing! Have a great day!

Always such cool art and that wall shadow plant really is terrific. Milo, I'm glad you like your toy, it's way too hot here to play outside. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

How fortuitous you could grab your camera and get that wonderful shadow work of art. I had one I saw once upon a time I wish I had thought so snap a pic, a picture outside of an upper story bedroom window with tree branches. Great likes, and your art is amazing. Milo I am sure you are just not working hard enough to de leg that octopus. We have a new dog on the farm, and her specialty is unstuffing everything.

I hope your wildflowers bloom beautifully!!!!
Love your ROOT card too - I've been too busy to do it this week at work. I need to still start at the beginning.

LeeAnna - thank you for including me in the group that received an email with your picture ROOT. I am honored - sorry that I have not responded - it has been a busy week! I love your ROOTs post. Thought provoking and reflective. I sometimes find posting has become burdensome, but maybe I need to go shorter and more spontaneous! Enjoy your weekend!

I did visit you last week but try as I might I couldn't leave you a comment....will try the email if I struggle again. I am like you and really love the friendships made from blogging. They can be the other side of the world but it really doesn't matter.
Milo....I think they put indestructible just to challenge you all. Milly loves the challenge too.
Hugs,
Annie x

Glad you are having fun exploring a variety of art forms, LeeAnna. LOVE that shadow you captured! It makes me want to head to the studio to see if I can interpret it in collage.

Love that brief image you captured. A moment in time. We have a tray for Ned that you hide treats in. It is too easy for him really but does amuse till all the treats are gotten. And we find the toys he doesn't destroy don't interest him, LOL.

What a lovely blospost today. Your drawing of the pondering woman is so good. As is the beet with its roots (I wrote a comment there).
You captured the shadow of the plant perfectly. a precious moment.
And what a beautiful wildflower that sprung up unexpectedly by the pot! A beauty!
It's fun to see Milo hasn't destroyed his octopus yet....
Have a lovely weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca

I really like your drawings - you are quite good at it! The portrait has character! Isn't nature amazing - so persistent and resilient - a flower in the gravel. I don't like the heat either, Milo. Funny how he likes the squeaky toys. My crazy dog is afraid of the squeakers. Hope you get a little cooling soon. xx K

I love seeing your artwork. I love seeing your talent shining through your works. I hope Milo's toys last awhile! Squeaky toys are the best!

Fun artwork again. Glad Milo has an indestructible toy...I will remember that one. We had a "molecule" that took years for Percy to get it apart...love when that happens!

What a delightful post. Your art is heartwarming and inspirational. A blogger friend did an index card challenge last year. I bought the cards and started but never really got into it. Always seems that LIFE gets in the way. Going to see if I can find it again. Maybe I can stick to it this year??

Milo is a beautiful dog. I bet he does get hot with that glossy black coat.

Yay for your seedlings. Hoping to plant a few things in a raised bed before summer has come and gone.
