For rainbow scrap challenge this week, using pink fabric scraps, I made a block with english paper piecing. This means for my non quilt making friends, that you cut the exact shape you want, from paper, then sew the fabric around the shape and later remove the paper.
I did that then laid out the pieces on my portable design board, the way they'll be sewn together into a whole.
so I can carry it around and try out background fabrics to applique it to... I cut the pieces a bit big when cutting the kit to carry downstairs to baste watching tv. It bugged me to waste that 3/8 in of fabric so I took the cut offs and made the tiny 6" square at the top. It is a rosebud... and will become another piece soon

Nature was calling to me this week. I didn't have much concentration or stamina but I painted a bit.

My friend Sonja and I exchange painting videos with each other, and she sent this one...

mine didn't come out like I wanted but it was good to see paint dance across the paper
the technique couldn't be easier, it plays with transparency, and I suspect mine would have come out better if I'd used watercolor paper, a larger brush, and diluted my paint more. Note transparency, layers, colorsJoy's table scraps challenge this month is to use pink scraps and interpret the prompt Kentucky Derby. I saw this t shirt on the internet
I don't love the idea of running horses around in circles but I know artists always do inventive posters and tshirts for an event, so I googled that and saw the cute image above
again, just on my little mixed media notebook, but I like her...

Milo: hiya! I have an important job. Mama disappears into her hidey hole
Mama: my art studio
Milo: whatever. I check on her ever so often, I keep her alert by barking loudly from the next door bedroom window
Mama: I jump out of my skin
Milo: glad to help. I come up when Daddy is done with work for the day, to get her downstairs to make dinner and start our play time, or she'd forget and stay up there even longer.

Love your pink fabric creations and your painting of the derby t-shirt! You are so talented, LeeAnna! Happy Saturday!
I LOVE the leaf watercolor!
I saw the rosebud immediately! So pretty! Those wheel shaped blocks are fabulous, but I haven't been able to find the pattern for that stretched hexagon. Such a clever block! Your painting projects this week - one pretty and tranquil, and the other is so whimsical. Love them both.
I like both your watercolour paintings of the leaves and the Derby horse!
The horse with hat, is sure fun.
Coffee is on.
Still loving your EPP project. Very unique and beautiful. Cool KY Derby print. I'd wear that on a T-shirt!
Lovely new EPP pink block, and I love the little rose made with the scraps! Wonderful painted leaves, the transparency effect is fantastic.
Cute horse with a hat, I like her too, especially her charming eye.
Thank you for sharing your busy day under Milo's watch ;)
Your pink EPP blocks are beautiful. I don't know if I told you how much I love that pattern. It will be fun to see what you do! Love the painting too - the leaves and the horse - such lovely colors.
Your pink EPP block sure add even more beauty to the blocks you've made so far! Your rendition of the Kentucky derby image you googled. Milo. . .I chuckled. . .our dog would have a similar outlook regarding how I spend my day! LOL
I love that Milo is so helpful! Your RSC blocks are lovely as always but my eye is drawn to that incredible rose. I can't wait to see you expand on this because it's so beautiful. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

These are all wonderful but talk derby is fabulous. I really like it. Thank you for joining FFO and have a nice weekend.
I like your fabric creation but I can’t imagine how it’s made. Your description didn’t help me, I have too little experience.
