I learned following a pattern has it's place. I work originally usually but while I'm coping with pain a pattern is a blessing. I get to choose fabrics and quilting designs etc.

her method for the checkerboard border is not as easy as the one I used, but they finish at 1" squares. This little quilt is very straight, but my digital photo ability is lacking to keep the photos straight!
I hung it up but it's too small for this wall and need a mid sized hanging rod
I add in my own little extras. She encourages wild use of color.
and I tried flowers a new way, on 7" square paper...

I finished the hand sewing of my tumbling block quilt, meaning it's time to quilt this one:
it was just a scrappy project for hand work while watching TV, and it grew...I think I learned about color and value as I sewed.
Knitting again... found my supplies for socks, and started a new pair for DH
the color of the month at RSC is aqua/turquoise and we're encouraged to use our scraps in a project
I pulled out the smallest scraps since I didn't have a project in mind...and made some improv geese one day while listening to a book on audio:

that's it for this week... otherwise I used my creativity to write Thursday's "I Like" post, cook, bake, and today I hope to start decorating the mantel for Halloween to extend the fun of the season.

The pear quilt is fantastic! I'm not usually a a big fan of yellow, but these yellows are perfect together.
The butterfly is really good. I like your extra dots and doodles. And, the daisies and dragonfly are just beautiful. So painterly and pleasing. Good job!

Your pears quilt is gorgeous. I love the subtle colors too -- true to life! Socks are my favorite to knit. Nice to see someone else knitting them too. Of course your paintings are beautiful too. Dragonflies steal my heart and that close-up of one on the flower is breathtaking. Hope the pain continues to be managed (even if only somewhat) with creativity!
I didn't realize the pear quilt was so small. It's adorable and the checkerboard border is a perfect finish. Of course, I love the butterfly painting and all your flower portraits.

Such pretty Pears, I love Fig Tree patterns and her fabrics! Hand piecing Tumbling Blocks, whew! But it IS gorgeous. Will you hand quilt it too? One of these days I WILL learn to knit socks, have had the yarn and needles for years but quilts (and now cross stitch) are always calling... Look forward to seeing where your improv geese fly to.
