Mark my word... Cole's ponderings

Cole here, to update you on my Very Important Life. Look at this place I found.

Back story. My momma is very sensitive to chemicals especially the mosquito spray so many of our eejit neighbors do every three weeks.
 It's serious, people.
We have to hide in the house for two days and Dad takes me for a ride in the car to a place that doesn't spray so I can do business.
Three days after the last spray, we all left for a walk in this other neighborhood.

I had to let every dog there know, right off the bat that I was here. Cole is here!
 Old King Cole
Cole Porter (I'm jazzy)
Cole, the hunter.

I walked about a block and got hot.
I don't tolerate discomfort well, and I never have. There's just no reason to.
I don't see the point.

When you're hot, stop and find shade. Even if you are only a little hot, and your people are pulling the leash and saying, "come on Cole" and "we just started Cole"...don't let that bother you.
Find the first comfy place and just stop walking, they'll get over it.
Have a seat, point out the convenient human sized bench since your people aren't smart enough to lay down on cool grass.
Like this.
Now they make a fuss when you lay down but Momma at least is easily distracted by flowers...

In fact some butterflies were all over momma and we decided they must think her shirt looked like a flower color. I imagined them saying...

Butterfly to it's family members over dinner, "You should have been there! It was the biggest pink flower I've ever seen. It didn't have any pollen or nectar though.... weird!"

Haha I crack myself up talking about bugs! Poodle humor!

hmmm she does kind of look like Crepe Myrtles....
Anyway, I rested, then felt sorry for my people and walked with them the rest of the way.

It's okay. I let them know I am the guiding force around here. I am the tour guide. Then I rewarded them with my company while we walked.
Oh and I did business along the way. Hey, you other dogs know what I mean right? It's good to be in a family and sometimes you gotta compromise. I love my people! Are you all having a nice summer?
 Cole out

Love the big sunflower. How awful to be allergic to the mosquito spray. Here the counties spray with helicopters. It is wonderful as we can barely go out if it is not sprayed as it is so bad. Never knew folks had issues with it, but it makes sense.

Great post! LOL! Cole reminds me of our first dog Paddie, she was the queen :) I have allergies and some are unknown and I know how challenging that is! Beautiful park!

I use to be allergic to lawn fertilizer when I was little. Hives everywhere if I came in contact with it. Made for a long spring and summer!

We have aerial spraying as well. They used to go up and down the streets with the trucks pumping ot the mosquito chemicals since i was very young in New Orleans and here in Baton Rouge.

Chloe the Smelly Basset will just throw herself on the ground and lay their on heer side. There is no way you can move a solid sideways basset. the Bad Basset Boyz just stand there and wait it out.

She must have gone to the Cole School of Dog Walking.

That's tough when you have allergies and people are spraying a lot in the summer. I guess it does give you another reason to get out somewhere pretty and spend some time in a more natural environment.

Sounds like YOU took your humans for a walk this time Cole, you just needed them to drive you huh? LOL

sometimes humans just need the firm paw of a Poodle for guidance

Yo Cole, you're so smart. I think any cool spot of shaded grass beats a hot walk any day and I'm sure Sam would agree. ;)

Us black dogs do not like heat! I make mom let me rest in the shade all the time. I just had a play date with my friend Layla who's a black poodle just like you. Love Dolly

Good for you Cole. People need to be guided.

That looks like a lovely place to walk! If you've got to get away from the stupid mosquito chemicals, that looks like a great place to do it. (People are so silly not to lie down in the cool grass, aren't we, Cole??)
