this post brought to you by the color....

Today's post is brought to you by the color... green? nope, all the colors got together to entertain you today!
Know what this is?? It's magic.
It is one of four, still working solar lights in the angel garden, as viewed from our little haven. As twilight approaches, they start their color changing, creating a little show every evening, just for us. Last night the first lightning bug also added it's little glow to the night. We don't put down chemicals, so we have lots of bugs.

The lights look a bit like little planets, don't they?

They glow blue, green, red for hours.

You know how I feel about color... I want a yard full of them!

some of you asked to see what the orange lanterns looked like when they lit up. See...

Subtle but pretty. I had to move them to a more sunny area so they would light up. They glow a pretty shade of golden orange with a bright yellow strip where the ray of led hits.

The little tiny lights are also solar, and look like tiny little metal lanterns.

I hope you can see these night time shots on your monitors. They evoke such a feeling in me.
This is a view from the yard of the back deck and the three orange lanterns with their gentle glow. Our home looks like a mountain cabin amid all the vinyl clad colonials in our neighborhood. I love sundown. It is so quiet. The colors are gentle. If we were to look at these pictures as a quilt, it might be bright solids against black or navy blue. Life leads to quilts for me. I leave you with this view,

Again I say, come on over, have a glass of wine with us and watch the lights come on.

May I ask if this is your own quote or where did you get it?
quote

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

I love it. Thanks.

I love the color changing solar orbs! How funny, I saw my first firefly last night too.

Yes the lights do look like planets, reminds me of the dear parents and last minute kids that rushed in the store for supplies for school project solar system.
Love this post brings back memories of the times we would actually catch lightening bugs and decorate ourselves with the glow part of the bug. Thanks.

Hi LeeAnna!
Love the mountain cabin look! Bugs are good! Glowing colors! Thanks for the invite!
A clematis still has to find a place in my garden! I'm giving the Orange Trumpet flower(campsis) one more season! If it doesn't flower, then it's gone and I have room for a clematis!
So many ideas ina garden for a quilt!
Take care,
Joanne
