welcome to this week's sewing round up.... it's Fall despite the heat wave we're experiencing.... so I pulled out the bag of Fall Scraps and worked on two projects, first a watercolor technique of a pumpkin
inspired by this one on my walk....
also inspired by sunlight and the color gold
First I arranged, then rearranged squares on the design wall this week,
| whee! whaat fun this is! |
til I sewed them into rows
I take them by rows to the machine, and leave them connected to each other til they get pressed.I press seams on row one to the left, then row two to the right, row three to the left, row 4 the right
and sew on
press very well, then sew the rows together carefully. My squares are 2" unfinished size,
| aren't the prints cute? Ignore the color on this photo |
now, the quilting will add so much, that will talk a little thought. Right now it's 20 tall by 24 wide
From these scraps I pulled skinny strips of blues to make another needle book. I now have 3 and think I might keep one and give the others to friends.

Love the colored strips together, tiny single fold binding anchored on by zig zag stitch
the inside, some folded in this time to hold some scissors, love those fishies! Batting to hold needles trimmed with rick rack scissors.
small projects are doable because they only take an hour or so and you still get to look at scraps!
