I LOVE pears, especially ones who wink at me while smiling!

The moon was making a spectacle of itself this week...

MOON CAUGHT IN A TREE!

My camera isn't good enough to show the face but the man in the moon was also smiling at me!

Our prompt this week:

do you like to carve pumpkins? do you have a pic of one you did? Have you ever been to a display or contest of carved pumpkins?

I don't like to carve pumpkins. (Messy) I always feel as if I'll stab myself with the knife! lol

I did not grow up with parents carving pumpkins or decorating at all. I was given a dime store costume and had a GREAT time trick or treating in my neighborhood. I still love costumes and dressing up, decorating and special foods. I like seeing carved pumpkins on neighborhood porches. I once saved a Martha Stewart magazine of ideas. I did a pumpkin quilt, and put felt pieces on it for the face that could be moved around.

Milo's Moment

Milo: M o m m m m .... I was just having a moment with my old chicken... I brought him to my day bed to snuggle. Sheesh always with that camera!
Mom: you were just so cute lying there, holding him in your arms snuggling. That chicken is worn out though, and you have a new one....
Milo: SO WHAT?  You don't get rid of toys just because they are missing a few parts, their stuffing, their squeaker... I have a warm heart!

Besides the new chicken is for chasing by the daddy, this one is for parts, now, leave us in peace,
won't you??

I've carved many pumpkins in my life, starting from childhood. I haven't carved one for about 15 years now though -- they are indeed messy to do and can be a fair amount of work to do.

The dragon on the house is a hoot! And your smiling pear, too. Milo, old toys are just like old quilts, right?! Sometimes they are the best to snuggle with!

Your moon painting is awesome!! I did grow up carving pumpkins and trick or treating in my neighborhood. And I made sure my kids had the same experience. I always dressed in costume for Halloween when I was teaching at a high school. I used to wear costumes when handing out candy at the door too. I haven't however in the last few years.

The Super Harvest Moon is really pretty this month. I forgot about this week's prompt: We always carve a pumpkin. Hubby used to do it with the kids but now it's just us. I've got 2 pumpkins ready to carve as Halloween gets closer. Have a great Thursday!

We didn't observe Halloween in the place and time I grew up so pumpkin carving wasn't a thing for me. Downunder, with the seasons reversed, we wouldn't have pumpkins for Halloween anyway. I love the displays of multiple varieties and colours of pumpkins.

Milo and his chicken made me smile. Milly had a little brown dog that had been stitched to and inch of its life but she slept with it every night where ever we were.
Hugs,

What a lovely water colour painting!
Milo made me smile with his 'old' chicken. Bless him.
I like your hexes or whatever they are called. I have no idea what you are making. You'll have to explain next week. These are all pieces of fabric I assume....
I've just spotted your Katherine Hepburn quote. Very good.
Hsve a lovely weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca

Sounds like you've had lots of smiles this week. Alfie has "Little Dog" it originally belonged to my other Schnauzer Stan and they have both loved it whereas the girls had no interest in it. I have sewn little dog up so many times to stop his filling coming out and bought a new one but No! Alfie said "Take it away and bring back the real Little Dog" so I keep pushing more stuffing in it and sewing it up. Have a good weekend. Hugs Angela xXx
