I Like Thursday # 309

Welcome to this week's list of likes!

I like flowers! I am always chasing the best close ups so I can do watercolor paintings...

when you shake wildflower seeds into patio pots, you have surprises daily too!

 Fine Dining

blackberry cobbler... the recipe is ( here)  I had one small package (one cup) of fresh blackberries so I made half a recipe, which was really delish,  and made four good sized portions... two nights of dessert

I was saved by my fingernails this weekend

love the pinky peach essie color for summer
Using the potato peeler to clean carrots I sliced off part of a fingernail... not my finger, thank God!

watching on TV

The Chair (TV Series 2021– ) - IMDb

discovered a new show, The Chair on neflix... wonderful quirky cast including Sandra Oh as the first female English Dept chair in their fictional ivy league university... great character study and underplayed which makes it funnier. Otherwise the usual shows...

I am getting into bookbinding... and ordered this kit... so useful and just as they said it would be! each item is useful in many ways, so, yea!

kit from amazon 9.99

I made some beautiful books this week in the Rebecca Page summit class, I'll share those on the creativity post Saturday

On youtube... the Newport Jazz festival has lots of videos and I so wish I could have gone... here's one

and another... dh and I watched Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, and others

Our Like Prompt this week is what sunscreen do you like? How do you protect yourself from sun damage?

I grew up in Florida, and I don't like the feel of sunscreen all over me. I tan easily and was told my birth father was Italian, so nowadays unless I'm going to be out for hours, I only put it on my face. I have sensitive skin but like Lancome products so it's my go to. I also love the feel of and scent of age perfect... and when I need overall sunscreen I use neutrogena. When we went to outdoor fests here I needed that 70 spf!

I do wear a hat when we go for outings and love hats.

Milo's Moment

first, I don't wear sunscreen....I wear a black hair coat all summer! Plus I don't like lotions on my hoomans anyway and have to lick it off when I smells it...

oh no my bowl is empty!
I like lima beans... a LOT  and could eat them only but have to share with pawrents

I like being outside even if it's hot

I like when daddy sits on the floor with me at night while I chew on toys

we love the cobber recipe, it's so good for summer. we currently use sunscreen products from norway.. that's a little odd, the land without sun for 364 days, but they are not bad LOL

Can't wait to see your books. Sounds like a really fun and interesting project.

Your cobbler sounds delicious and I do love blackberries. I made a strawberry crisp last weekend, but ended up putting it in the freezer to eat later. My MIL used to make the best apple crisp. I love a good fruit crisp, crumble, or cobbler. Yum!

I wear Neutrogena sunscreen on my face too. I have way too much skin damage from years of being outdoors without any sunscreen - back in the old days.

Oh, cobbler is one of my favorites…. I loved my grandmother's peach cobbler, but it is hard for me to get good peaches in Maine (farmer's markets are not close to the island sadly). You do keep moving with your creative interests…now bookbinding! You amaze me.

Pretty flowers and I ate some of the blackberry cobbler. Yummy.

It's good to have products that work for you.

It's always good to see handsome Milo.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches to Milo. ♥

Oh, my dog is always licking off the lotions that I use too! Kind of annoying but I still love him. I can't wait to see your books!

Great recipe for cobbler LeeAnna. Thank you. I always enjoy reading your I Like posts to see your flowers as they are growing, check what you are cooking and creating, and of course, to see Milo’s moments. 😉

That is a pretty flower and that cobbler sure looks good! Our Dad just found out he can no longer have dairy or dairy products so the peeps have been having fun redoing what they eat. Milo, Lima Beans? They are probably good for you. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Blackberry cobbler - yum! I don't like the feel of sunscreen all over me, either, especially after you've had your outdoor event and are hot and sticky for the rest of the day. Milo - Lima beans? You can have my helping!

Your basil looks like it is doing well! I didn’t get any planted this year! I have some that I froze in olive oil for pasta etc. but I’ll miss the fresh. I really like fruit cobblers too! A good way to take advantage of the Colorado peaches I hope to acquire ! Sorry about the mishap with the vegetable peeler, ouch! Bookbinding has always interested me too! Good for you to give it a go! Anxious to see the results!

Books now that would be neat to make. I too want to see that. Love any dish with fruit in it...makes me feel it's a little bit healthier somehow. I'm going to look for that Essie colour as I really like it...perfect for summer.I use Neutrogena products a lot too. I hate that I have to cover up so much these late years.

I finally signed up for Feedly, so maybe I wont' miss as many posts or have to remember to go search for you. I use Neutrogena sun screen,m too (55). It's a pain to have to slather it on when I go out to garden, especially after just taking a shower, but years of sun exposure has done its damage. Maybe a cobbler with homegrown peaches is in my future.

Hi LeeAnna! I love Neutrogena products. I forgot to share it but they make a spray-on version that goes on nice and light. Thank heavens your nail saved your finger!! And your desert looks delicious. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

on sun screens, i had a friend dust me face and neck and arms with a powder that she got from amazon that was so helpful, like desert earth but brush and dust were all in one tube. at the last art festival i did, a weekend event under the July sky, and i did not fry! i hate the greasy stuff too.Your
Cobbler looks devine. but i ate all the peaches i bought at costco to make a cobbler. they were so cold in the fridge i could not resist. will try this with the frozen BB i have. Oh, speaking of food that last time i was food shopping, the piped in muszac played

Thank you for linking up with me for this month's "currently" post! I love blackberry cobbler and haven't had it in ages. Now I'm wondering where I can get some this weekend. Ha! I hate grating cheese for that very reason, but I'm glad your nail was the only thing hurt...I grated my thumb once and it bled and bled...I had a young friend here when it happened and she had to finish our dinner for me. I'm intrigued by book binding and will look forward to seeing more of the finished product! I hope you have a great weekend!

I like being outside even when it's hot also, because I love summer and hate winter and cold. But, be sure and drink lots of water so you don't get dehydrated. Pretty flowers. Sounds like you've been busy. Enjoy!

I'm late in the day getting round all my blogging friends because I have been head down sewing since 7 this morning...and still not finished. What a busy few days its been.
It was good to catch up this week. I tend to just put sunscreen on my face too and stay out of the sun mostly.
Hugs,
Annie x

I love cobblers. Blackberry sounds good! Surprise flowers are always fun. I'm amazed at how many different plants are in our yard. Ew... Milo... how can you like lima beans?

Joni Mitchell was the first concert I ever went to so I was thrilled to see her perform in Newport! Love your sunscreen products. I've never had blackberry cobbler. I hope to try it one of these days!

Thanks for the recommendation of The Chair, sounds right up my alley. Yikes on the peeler, but glad it was just the nail. I've had some nasty incidents with knives and once a razor...so I cringed. I too was blown away and a little choked up at Joni's recent performance. I'm like you with the sunscreen too.

Great flower photo and nail color, LeeAnna!! Book binding kit? Thanks for the link! I didn't find any so reasonably priced when I looked a few months ago.

I shaved off a quarter of my nail with my chef's knife a few years ago, so I know what you mean. Glad your fingers are all present and accounted for! Bookbinding?! Do we get to see your creations, I hope?

A dog eating lima beans? Silly Milo! Thanks for the tip on The Chair. As we've both commiserated, there's nothing decent on TV right now. I also recently saw a tip on The Gray Man. Yippee! Two shows to check out on Netflix! Have a great week!

I try cobbler recipes! Thank you for a new one. As soon as it cools down a bit, I'll be trying it.
