A little trunk show

Violet Valentine Vase (c)LAPaylor
I am doing a little trunk show today for the blog hop at whimsandfancies so check out the others!
There are  blogposts to go with each of my quilts here,  with detail shots and how they were made.
I have made well over 200 quilts in my quilting life, not all are shown on the blog but I do show 40+ when I  do speaking engagements for groups.

The above picture is one of my 21 Valentine quilts, one each year we've been married. I do a special trunk show of all of them, plus all the Halloween quilts for guilds and speak about working in series.
A-Moo-Ha (c)LAPaylor
A-Moo-Ha was made to as an homage to a state I would love to visit, Hawaii. I do love a cow, and she is stuffed to look, um, like me.
Speaking of me, here is one of my self portraits....
Bikini Body (c)LAPaylor
I made this to interpret the song, "She wore a teeny weenie Yellow polka dot bikini" She is not only sporting a rhinestone belly button ring but cat's eye glasses with rhinestones.
Klimt  (c)LAPaylor
I was part of a group studying famous painters and interpreting them in fabric. With an emphasis on texture, the group was called STAT see them all here! and the side link takes you to each one, very different styles all 12" square. This one has metal embedded in her tiara.
Time Flies (c)LAPaylor
My favorite among many favorites, Time Flies was made for a challenge to interpret your favorite saying. Time Flies whether you're having fun or not, so better have some fun. It was made about 1998, has a working clock, and hangs at the entry to my studio.

I also make bed quilts, used to always hand quilt but now quilt on my small domestic machine, and although I know how to use subtle color, I revel in clear bright colors. Did you know that colors vibrate? That's why we're drawn to one over another, the response to the actual vibration.

Color is joy to me.

My focus is on living the creative life, and I have a variety of artistic interests. I enjoy painting, beading, drawing, reading, walks, dancing, and writing as well as finding artistic events while traveling. Please come back and keep in touch. The connection between us is important to me!

Are you new to my blog?? I would love you to follow my progress in living the creative life.

When I saw the banner I was expecting something entirely different. Your work is so interesting and eclectic. You most certainly are not afraid of colour and it shows in your quilts. I particularly like the Klimt piece. Thanks for the trunk show!

Lovely work and so many details. The depth of the flowers, the pineapples at the bottom of A Moo Ha, the swimmers and seagulls in your bikini (and those extra bikinis and beach umbrellas.) Definitely shows your sense of humor.

Love the ah-moo-ha! They're all so great! Do you have a journal or somethng where you keep track of all your quilts? At age 90 my mom is now wishing she knew how many quilts she's made over the years. She mostly made bed quilts, but she also made some baby quilts and wall hangings.

What a full trunk you have LeeAnna! It must have been hard to choose just these ones. I love the Valentine quilt. As so many have already said you have so much individuality - and a great sense of humour!

Your art is amazing LeeAnna! I love every single one of these quilts, not just because of your skill, but for how adventurous you are in your use of materials and color and for the fun and humor in them!

Thank you for showing these lovely quilts. I enjoy seeing pictorial quilts like these. I've seen this trend of portraitmation app that would be interesting to play with your portrait quilt. I've not personally played with the app, but I've seen some people share on Instagram.
