i Like Thursday # 495 fashion trends to bring back

Welcome to this week's list of likes starting with an 8" snowfall, and one happy puppy running in it for the first time!

it was so pretty, and then it started to melt....
if the groundhog needs any help, Dewi/Arlo/Theo saw his shadow...
the temps bounced back to HOT, then cooled off again Wednesday. Going back to hot Thursday

saw this on a walk, I know I live in a golf course community but this is one small sandtrap!

we have mighty holds in the roads!

fine dining

made strawberry muffins, and used the cool temps to cool down a mixture

my word they are good! and big!

made a wonderful quiche
home made crust from Bigger Bolder Baking recipe, egg whites, spinach/mushroom, onion saute, Feta
we had meals from it 4 times and it's so good

Also made more peanut butter cookies, and maraschino cherry/chocolate chip cookies (freeze some from each batch for later)

Reading same books as last week, both very good, and watching same shows. Spring Baking Championship is back and always fun to watch (food network) Survivor is amazing

sewing
My watercolor painting, printed onto fabric, hand embroidered   finished this week

Dewi/Theo (this week) continues to grow, and let his flag fly daily! This week he played with an outside ball, walked a lot, loved snow I'll let him tell you...
Theo/Arlo (poor poodle with too many names)
Hi y'all!
Good Boy here to tell you what I liked. I LOVE mama! I love how she sings to me, pets me, takes me on walks and feeds me lots. The vet said I was way too skinny. This week I practiced getting farther away from her by sneaking upstairs to watch her from the railings, then when she asked,
"where's my puppy" the sing song way she does, I turn around, RUN down the stairs, RUN down the hall to skid to a stop right at her knees laughing!
I'm right here Mama!!!

I still keep a close watch on her so she can't sneak away from me.... this week I laid down on the patio and kept an eye on her while she chatted with friends. One said I was an Ozzy to her, but then her taste is questionable because she has a golden doodle, and that's the kind of dog who was mean to me at that other house I almost forgot about!

On a walk this week, an Owl took off with a bird in it's mouth, right in front of us.
Wow! I admit I am fascinated with all birds, and might get a degree in them mama says
I chase off the ones in our pine tree now, do you know they walk on the ground then suddenly they are up in the air? Weird amiright?
I love it here! hashtag poodle glee!

conversation starter this week:
If you could bring back any fashion trend what would it be?

I love the dresses from the 60's   portrait necklines, fuller in the skirt, shapely with pretty fabrics

what I didn't like was the non stretch aspect even in bras, and side zippers. Hard to twist for them.

I even had non- panty hose, pull each delicate whisper up over your leg and hook onto a garter belt. But I looked good.... so did most women.

I came of age in the 70's and loved the hip hugger jeans, halter tops, and platform shoes!

With a year round tan, I felt I looked stylish! Let me know what trend you'd bring back

yep, he likes to sit like this on the stairs too

So happy my puppy is adjusting to life with us... I tested his love by shaving his furry feet this week, what a lot of hair! He stopped sliding on the wood floors after it was shaved off. His skin is pink and so delicate I'll have to be super careful not to shave him as close as I did Milo and Cole

Cannot settle on a name and he is just coming out of his depression and showing his true self. He loves to eat, and stays by me even in the studio. We tried out Leo(nardo da vinci) and Val(entino)

Valentines is his gotcha day

so it's all learning and loving here at the moment...

please visit these kind folk (let me know if you want to join our merry group)

Thanks for the update, Dewi/Theo! You are such a great doggy!

I wore nylons before pantyhose was invented too. Garters!

I think he looks like a Dewi, but whatever name you settle on he will respond to with love. The cashmere golden retriever my daughter's family rescued 2 years ago was named Newt. She told the kids they could come up with a new name, but after a couple of weeks of ideas he remains Newt. It just seemed to fit him. LOL I liked those 60s fashions too. That pattern made me think of Audrey Hepburn or Doris Day. I wanted their wardrobes for myself.

I love your tulip painting turned into fabric. It's just the right touch of spring. I was thinking Dewi looked a little too skinny, so I wasn't surprised when the vet said he needed to put on some weight. Maybe he was just overwhelmed by too many other animals around.
I can't think of any fashion trend I'd want brought back. I never looked good in anything as I have always been tall and slim and look gawky in everything I wear. Now it's just jeans, sweatshirts and t-shirts. Comfort above all else.

Your pup-dog is so sweet and happy to hear his personality is starting to shine. So cute that he loves the snow and is fascinated by birds. (Creepy about the owl, though!) Your quilted picture is so pretty - I love the combination of green and rose.
I grew up in the 60's and 70's, too and love that era's fashion. My Mom and all my aunties wore the full skirts and cigarette slacks with the bee-hive hairdos. When I was a teen, first it was the 'Twiggy' fashion with bright colored polka dots and geometric tights, then it was the Ali McGraw style - long hair and preppy, mini-skirts and tights and bell-bottomed jeans. But my favorite era of all is the 1920's and 30's. I just loved watching Downton Abbey with the gorgeous clothes and hats. The best thing about modern times is that we can wear whatever we like! x K

I am so happy that Dewi/Theo has come into your life, I enjoyed going back and reading the posts talking about him. My Rusty is a rescue and is still scared of so many things but we are so grateful to have him. Hugs!

Arlo - please please please call him Arlo. I know a lot of Theos (none k9 admittedly, but only one Arlo - and loved his music). Love that vintage dress pattern too - I've quite a collection of similar but I'm such a different shape to those - smaller hips, large bust, and huge shoulders and biceps compared to women of that era. I need to make serious adjustments if I choose any of those with sleeves.

Isn't snow just the best and eight inches is a wonderful amount for you, Dewi! Those strawberry muffins look delicious! I remember the bell bottoms so well but I'm not sure I want that fashion trend to return.

I'll bet Dewi is disappointed that the snow is gone already.
Love the sense of humour with that golf ball. It's pothole season here too and it seems especially bad this year.

Oh yes I wore garter and nylons before panty hose. I love seeing Dewy. I made all of my own clothes in the 60's. The Food looks great. Have a nice day today.

It is so wonderful to see your new puppy enjoying the snow and finally finding his "poodle glee" in such a loving home. Your hand-embroidered watercolor fabric is absolutely stunning and shows such a beautiful blend of different artistic talents. There was definitely something special about those platform shoes and high-waisted looks.
