creativity this week

I'm trying a new location to blog, we'll see how it works with photos. This is the Aqua/turquoise feathered star block with close up

and for Joy's table scraps this week, butterfly in aqua scraps

here it is made, with some hand stitching threads....no beads

Obviously I made my own pattern, it's so wonky!

(never sew when you are in the pain I am)

with hand stitching beads, sequins. Notice the little black beads on her "hair" for eyes?

I did hand embroidery before the beads went on. French knots, boxes, cross stitch, loops
a couple small paintings

fragile on the left, shell on the righght

that's it for now, hope this works

If you have ever studied a butterfly, you may notice, as I have done, that aren't totally symmetrical. Life has a way of taking a notch of wing here or there. So, I would say yours is not wonky, but realistic and fanciful. The mini face button has me smiling. Felt like something in an Alice and Wonderland illustration.

,....to me wonky is funny, not boring, stretching normal boundaries, perhaps something else that leads to growth and a start of a interesting conversation with color and fabrics and beads and paint, not necessarily in that order. I love your flutterby in the tune of aqua!!

Looks like what you figured out for uploading blog photos is working - hooray! I love those star blocks you're making. They're so pretty! The butterfly is fabulous! My butterflies were wonky, too, but I don't suppose anything in nature is truly symmetrical. Let's embrace our wonkiness!

I'm a bit ate from yesterday since summer FRiday's are tough, but I love that butterfly. Very original. And the cracked pot also caught my eye. I hope you're not having too hot of weather. And happy August! hugs-Erika
