Wish I had one like this, don't you? (it's only missing rabbit ear antennae and a layer of dust!)
The Paper pieced Home |
There are all three sets to the left... can't have too many!
There is a bit of static on the brown and blue ones, but the sewing show is coming in loud and clear on this purple one!
I've been collecting fabrics to remind me of the 50's and 60's for a couple years now, but haven't found exactly the right pattern idea to make the quilt yet.
These ladies seemed to fit the era...
When I was growing up, my people made their own clothes so naturally as soon as I could take a class in sewing I did. I made my clothes all through junior and senior high school. Halter tops, hot pants, jumpsuits, and lots of pretty summer dresses.
As long as I can remember I have loved TV.
She came from this fabric
can't wait to see what else comes from using this.
And
Goody for me to cut into a piece this big!
A couple weeks ago my friend Mari, at academicquilter sent me this surprise...
She said it looked like me...
awe shucks! It sure does!
I might just make a shirt today...

I love your purple TV! The fussy cut is perfect!
Well I would watch Oppie on "Mayberry RFD" and watch out for dust bunnies of course! Rural free delivery in case you are wondering .
Wouldn't you watch a wine-tasting show on a purple TV? :) Glad you like the fabric! It just screams Leeanna! Have a great weekend!
Love the TVs. Always.
(Chanting)Shirt, Shirt, Shirt, Shirt, Shirt!
I love the pattern on the purple TV. We should show this to manufacturers (in whatever country they are).
Rabbit ears! Foil! Great tv LeeAnna!
Love the channel you're on!
Just watched a gardening show and one theme was Alice in wonderland! Tea cups and tea pots and even two pink flamingos!
Weather is warming up! Just have to see what the summer brings here in the garden!

I love your purple TV, and the channel you are on. Here we most often watch sports. My husband loves it, and I love it because I can have fun with my hexies while he's watching it.
These just make me smile :)
I want to watch that sewing show on the purple TV. It makes me smile too.
I'd watch that TV show! Great TV's to go with the rest of the colour themed furniture.
The book I am reading for my Book Club this month is set in the 1950s and was describing a purple Cadillac in a recent chapter. I think you need one of those to go along with your TVs! I love the sewing lady on your purple TV. Just like you, it reminds me of family, especially my mom, sewing all our clothes when I was growing up.
Very fun TV's. After 2 months of making my own paper pieced blocks, I have a whole new appreciation on what it takes to make those blocks look perfect. Beautiful piecing!
I have a hunk of that same purple which I am hoarding. Who wouldn't want that purple tv? And the sewing show is perfect. I know you had fun doing it.
I wanna come over to your house and watch I Love Lucy on the purple TV!
Love the purple tv! And I'd sit down and watch that show too! Very clever! You are so creative. I enjoy reading your blog to see what new colorful things you've made.
the fusy cut for the purple TV was a great idea.
This TV could not be any cuter! You must be having a ball putting these together! So much fun!
Awesome blocks Leanna. I love that you had some tv's with static. Really fun blocks.
I love the red legs - it's all in the details!
Lovely TV; just right for watching Payton Place! Although, I never saw that in colour!
Those mid-century TVs are beyond adorable! Love 'em

Oh I'm pleased to see I'm not the only one with a purple post even though we are officially Orange! Love the TV.
I love that show you are tuning in to watch ;-)
I love purple and I have that purple fabric in my stash! I have been using it in several projects, so fun! Thanks for sharing!!
very cute rendition of an old tv. Love the purple (actually I had some of it at one time.)
Oh goodness! How cute are those TVs?? What a fun project.
I've loved these TV's since you first showed them, and the purple one is so fun. The fussy cut piece you used is adorable! Thanks for linking these up to MCM!
Why I would watch a documentary about a purple people eater of course! I remember getting our first color TV as a kid. What a big deal that was! I was glued
Completely adorable. I want to see that sewing show! I started sewing in summer school before 7th grade and never stopped, though my clothing sewing is pretty much fallen off the radar.
What a clever block. I like your TV sets.
What a neat block and like you I sewed all of my clothes through high school and beyond!
Your tvs are absolutely great!
I just love your 60's TV collection! Especially love the show you're watching on the purple one!
The tvs are great. When I was just out of college and living away from my home in Texas, I glued a bunch of farm animals to my tv set to remind me of home. I'd do it again, too, if my screen was not flat! I liked it. And I would watch anything on a purple tv - I love purple!
