welcome to this week's list of likes starting with some magnificent sky photos ! We have had impending rain, not really rainy, the most has been maybe 10 drops after the clouds ramping up for a deluge.
Still 10 drops is something....
the clouds have been mighty! this is looking toward Buckley AFB and this is a shot of some of their observatories from our 'hood| Hi Mama, I can watch you from this perch! |
conversation starter:
What would be your favorite insect and why? think about the good or
pretty insects out there not just annoying ones... did you ever capture
lightning bugs in a jar as a kid?
I'm upset that two things came in already opened from food delivery this week, what the heck?
We met two women walking a baby in a stroller and a corgie puppy on leash. So many people live in this 'hood, and its fun to meet nice ones. They both wanted to pet my pretty pup and he carefully approached both of them nicely. They previously both had rescue dogs, one who adjusted well, one who always was traumatized, both were rejected in adoption and returned to the shelter (like Alfie was) so they knew how to let Alfie take the first steps.
He is becoming a brave boy, and will be 2 this month. I love him so....
| I like hoomans who move slow and let me go up to them |
He was so funny this weekend when we planted wildflower seeds out back and watered them.
We dropped the hose faucet so it sprayed up into the air, and he had so much fun playing in water again

It sounds like Alfie has adjusted nicely, and that he's a good match for you. My firefly memories mostly involve being at my grandparents' house in Kansas - with my cousins trying to catch them in jars. When we first moved to this house 20 years ago were would see fireflies in our backyard. But unfortunately I haven't seen any in the past couple of years.
That is so sweet that you collect your mom's socks because you love her, Alfie. Those candied pecans look so yummy! Mom isn't fond of bugs inside the house but she doesn't mind them outside. The praying mantis is such an interesting guy! We caught one once as kids and put him in a jar with a small butterfly. We don't need to tell you what happened. Ewwwww
He's making sure your socks don't get lost in the drier? Those pecans look yummy!
I think dragonflies are pretty cool
FUN FACT: Here in Trinidad and Tobago🇹🇹 we also call them batty mamselle
I am #6 on the linky, today
Much love
You always catch some beautiful sky photos! We always call these rain showers "6 inch rains" because the drops don't get any closer than 6 inches. 🙄 I bet Alfie likes your socks because they smell like you! Happy Thursday!
The sky sure is interesting! Hey Alfie, good job with the sock colletions buddy!!! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Your poodle friend is such a nice creature! Thanks for this beautiful post and get together aloha!

Great photos. Alfie is so sweet. Good recipe on the pecans.
A cute pup and some beautiful skies!
Doggo is super duper cute.
Worth a Thousand Words
I would have to say dragonflies are favourites, but I love bees too (not wasps though!). I used to love ladybugs until the powers that be thought they should introduce a different variety in hopes to control the influx of purple loosestrife that they claimed would be hugely invasive. Funny, the loosestrife turned out to be a non-event and now we're stuck with the new ladybugs that bite.
You have a lot going on!!
Nothing better than puppy stares and collecting socks of his favorite person.
