creativity this week... Spring watercolor quilt

whew it will be good to see the back of this week!  Rainbow scrap challenge color is:

pastels

pretty much I worked on putting those tiny 2" squares together, each finishing at around 1 1/2" really making my quilt smaller

19" X 22" ish.

too small so I got these out to put on another whole row around this center...

then sew the pieced rows to the center matching edges... and my idea is to border with the larger pieces and prints

see some chosen, on the outside edge on the design wall

maybe some floral appliques after all that is done

close up... colors blend from block to block to create a scene

ridiculously hot and sunny here, our pup is sick, life is a challenge right now

when I'm stressed, I sort, so I looked thru my scrap bins and pulled out pieces that could be cut into 3" squares, 3  1/2" squares and 2 1/2" squares and plan to keep a little box of mixed color same shapes and sized squares for use later.

it's calming to sort, don't you think? handling fabric is better than nothing

The watercolor quilt is coming together nicely. Hopefully it cools down a bit and your pup gets to feeling better. It's no fun to be stressed.

We have this in common! When I'm stressed, I organize or sort or straighten!

Poor Alfie - is it the heat? Agree that sorting and sewing scraps can be very therapeutic, a stress buster.

I haven’t done any quilting for a while. You may have inspired me to start a small watercolor wall hanging.

I sure hope Alfie gets well quickly. I have a friend visiting her brother-in-law just south of your area in Colorado. I asked her how the trip was going and she said Hot! Hot! Hot!

I'm so sorry poor Alfie is sick - perhaps he needs a different type of food? My friend has a standard and his tummy doesn't react well to a lot of foods and they've had quite a time finding one that he likes and that sits well on his tummy.

It has been so hot... and windy! And wind makes me grumpy... as does the constant sound of fans and AC units. :( Petting fabric and organizing are very calming for me. I'm sorry to hear that the pup is ill. :( Did you ever settle on a name for him? Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell.

Your watercolor painting is lovely, it looks like a field of wildflowers. I'm sorry to hear about Alfie, hot temperatures are hard on everyone, and I hope you are both not suffering too much. Thank you for sharing your creative week and linking up.

Fun to see the watercolor..reminds me of working in the quilt store when those were all the rage. Sorry about Alfie, hope it is just the heat. Percy often reacted to it.
