My creative time was split this week between paint/drawing and fabric work
tools of the trade sit out by the computer all the time
Making Zen workshop online was fun, 8 lessons a day in slow making, and I watched most lessons but really about 4 of them. As for sewing, the color of the month is orange so I used orange in paints too
this was just from youtube... a lesson using water color. Draw with a paint loaded brush around a circle, then use that to stamp all over your paper.Paint where the circles overlap (many colors of ink for me) then doodle over the small sections
I love it
One of the mixed media lessons had us paint then stitch over that...mine came out like a tidal scene to me... using zig metallic silver and gold markers first
then pan inks and finally brown embroidery threads thru the paper remind me of bird feet in wet sand
I hope to try this technique again on heavier paper
I start each lesson by drawing the instructor's pace and painting it
I love capturing the unique faces it's a lesson in observation.
a face made with collage plus pencil, ink, paint
sometimes I paint on watercolor paper and tape into the sketchbook, other times right onto sketchbook
this time I painted from life instead of following the lesson
For Rainbow scrap challenge's color of the month, orange, I tested different paint and ink colors
using up leftover gouache right onto the paper plus instructor's image
one of the Zen stitch instructors had us using smallest scraps to make very tiny vignettes...
small scraps sewn into segments to be connected with scrappy strips...
each little scrap work together to make a fascinating vignette

Happy Mother's Day to your mom, Alfie! She sure is one very creative and gifted artist!
Love that you included Alfie in your artwork. He's a great subject as he has brought so much joy to your life. Looks like you had a very productive week!
Great work, both painted and quilted! And I see that Alfie got immortalized in that one piece!
I love your painting of Alfie...I'm sure there are lots more of those to come!
So much fun creativity!
As always, your art amazes me. How peaceful it must be to pick up a brush/pencil or any other tool and create such beauty! Your fiber arts are starting to influence me - again! :)
Your drawings are beautiful, I love the tidal scene! Pretty orange project too. Have fun playing with colors!
Thank you for sharing and linking up.
Splitting your creativity between 2 things you are good at - but still shows off your love of color!!
Lots of creative juices in your pieces, even if they are lessons and practice. Hope you had a very good Mother's Day.
Those bits from the tiniest pieces of scraps are so interesting. I didn't get many of the videos from making zen watched last week. Time simply didn't allow me to! Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell!
Oh, that circle painting is fun. I do love seeing all the faces popping up in the art and Alfie, too. He is a beauty.
Very creative, colorful painting. And love the teeny tiny fabric stitching.
I love your art no matter the medium. You truly know how to work with color.
Love your little snoopervisor! So cute. And so are those vibrant orange scraps you are using for RSC! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
