still enjoying the free art lessons, finished the Zen stitch and want to continue with mixed media so may have to purchase them this time

this was done on my own to test some Windsor-Newton watercolor markers... more on Sat post

I like seeing my sketchbook fill up! I love these markers so much

I watched at least 40 short videos... yep, obsessed now

and finally this, did I tell you I used to study tap dance  and was in several productions?

never this good but I love tap still and despite back injury I can still do a time step!

Conversation starter this week
did you wear (have stories) mini skirts? fishnet hose? halter tops?

yes to all!
(do not forget I was a dancer in a lot of performances and costumes as well)
Fishnets.... I wanted to be agent 99 on Getsmart or AnneMarie on ThatGirl

on my 13th birthday party, I wore fishnet hose, a mini skirt, and a newsboy cap to top it all off, along with white lipstick, to go to a matinee with girlfriends. Those hose dug into my fleshy preteen thighs and caused a rash from walking and sitting in them!

still
I thought I looked good
Now, halter tops look good on me, and I wore them but worried at not being able to wear a bra...shy... I made most of my clothes my freshman year of college and made lots of pretty halter top sundresses.

since a lot of girls wore grungy jeans, I got a fair amount of attention on campus. I still LOVE a dress, and a halter dress. Just right for my shoulder shape.
even made a jumpsuit like this but in dark purple

Love the pilot hand gestures and the back flip! Top Gun is still one of my very favorite movies and yes, I did wear shorter skirts and halter tops and fishnets! Our state is heating up this weekend.

I enjoyed all those videos, especially that crazy cat! I've never used watercolour markers and I'm curious about them, so I'm looking forward to your Saturday post. Your watercolour portrait is lovely!

Oh yes, I wore them all. Even got sent home from school once because my skirt was too short and I wasn't wearing a bra under that halter top. LOL My parents were not happy with me. That was the first and last time to wear that halter to school. But the skirts were all very short and that didn't change anytime soon.

Colorado weather has had multiple personality disorder this year! We never know which one is going to show up. 🙄 That kitten video made me laugh out loud! I'm glad Alfie is a good walker and enjoys exploring the neighborhood. Happy Thursday!

I don't know what it is, but I just love Alfie. Great watercolor piece. I wore all of these and made them myself. I was quite the seamstress back then.

No halter tops, fishnets, or mini skirts for me. My parents would not have allowed those. lol Thank you for linking up.

I like those halter tops. When I was younger any skirt shorter than knee length made me nervous. So absolutely no mini skirts for me!

decades ago, when i batiked muslin fabric and made halter/suns-dresses, i made macrame string to tye them on, with puka shells as the beaded ends. so long ago it seems like a dream...

I never wore mini skirts or halter tops, primarily because I'm 5'9" and, at the time that those things were the rage, I only weighed about 100 lbs. I was fine, just thin (my, how I've changed!!) and I knew mini skirts would look terrible with my skinny legs and knobby knees.

Being at least a decade older than you, I never wore any of those garments, although I did wear short shorts. I'm small breasted so revealing tops are not in my inventory, nothing to show off. Weatherwise, we had frost on Mon, Tues, and Wed, and we're going to hit 91 this coming MoI hope yo9u had a wonderful birthday.

Love your sketchbook getting filled with wonderful art! The hand gestures and dances were so much fun to watch. Oh, yes, fishnets, short shirts, and halter tops....not of lot of the last two but some....to be fashionable when needed.
