welcome to this week's list of likes... we had a cold snap! yea!
with snow that melted in two days. Three days later the temps are in the 60;s in the sun headed to sustained heat. We might have had random warm days in the past winters but now
too warm all the time but for one or two days of cold. We looked forward to cold winters when we decided to move here.

"a small like"
"another like "
conversation starter this week is
Do you like puzzles? what kind? jigsaw, things like rubiks cube or slide puzzles, written ones like crossword or sudoku ?
I have loved jigsaw puzzles as long as I can remember. I even remember the big 6 piece wooden jizsaw I had as a really young girl! I quickly mastered it and did it over and over. Then there was the cardboard pieces that fit into a holder as I aged. Now I have been doing 300 piece puzzles online and love them to zone out... just see color shape and images...
I do not, repeat NOT like slide or twisting (rubiks) puzzles at all, I do love a book of math puzzles, sudoku, or logic as well as old fashioned Dell puzzle books with a variety of puzzles.
they are logical when so much of life does not seem logical at the moment
puzzles are somehow calming while being stimulating at the same time, maybe that's why I love a good mystery show too
what about you?

Thanks for that cookie recipe -- I'm going to try it too -- they sound delicious!
The cookies look delicious! May have to try that recipe. I do like puzzles of all kinds. I kept a big basket in my classroom for those times that students had nothing to do. The grandkids found some of those puzzles at Christmas and worked on them when they were here. And I have 1,000 piece puzzle on my family room coffee table right now. It's about 20% done so far.
Oh huskies are so funny. My son has one and he makes me laugh a lot!
Always need a new cookie recipe. Thanks. Great puzzle photos. I must own 500 puzzles. OMG they take up so much space. LOL
Those cookies do sound yummy! Love the horse video - so sweet. The thing I love about puzzles - whether jigsaw or word is they take your brain somewhere else. Like reading, too - we all need that!
The snow capped mountains are gorgeous and I love jigsaw puzzles with 1000 pieces. Not a day goes by that I"m not working on one.
think i have most of the ingredaments to bake those cookies! looks yummy!!
could not open the horse video. it has been 25 years since my Lily was walking in her pasture to meet at the gate with a load of carrots. she gallops in my memory and heart still!
These cookies look good to me, so I might have to make them! I don't seem to have the patience for puzzles. Thank you for linking up and have a great weekend.
Those are all terrific photos but I'm stuck on those delicous cookies, yum! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I always find that almost all King Arthur Flour recipes come out delicious! I recently made their original Pineapple Upside Down Cake for a book club meeting at my house, and it had wonderful reviews from all the members.
I liked doing puzzles when I was a child, but I haven't done them much as an adult, as my favorite leisure activity these days is reading..." so many books so little time," seems true these days. Hope our mountains get more snow soon!
I love jigsaw puzzles. I do them online everyday, so the "I'm not addicted" cartoon really hits home. I also do the Sudokus from the NY Times and the Washington Post. And I do some of the other NY Times puzzles, too. I dropped the NYT digital edition subscription and now just subscribe to the puzzles. They kept raising the price and I can find news in several other free sources. Those cookies look delicious, but I don't have any cranberries or orange juice, so I may have to try them later.

Life is a puzzle, i seem to have lost a few pieces.
Perhaps i have enough to make it through the day.
....did i forget to feed the cats? they will let me know!!
You live in a beautiful area! I'm sorry though that you're not getting the cold weather that you hoped for (btw - I can happily send you some of ours!).
The Resident Chef often does jigsaw puzzles but hasn't started one yet this winter. I prefer crosswords and hate anything that uses numbers. I think that's a throwback from having to deal with numbers when I worked in the bank...don't care if I never see them again.
Such beautiful images in drab January. I remind myself beauty comes wherever one looks for it-even if it's dried grasses moving on a breeze.
