I Like (Christmas) things to love #484

I'm dreaming of having another poodle ...Merry Christmas to you all, Happy Hanukah too

Our conversation starter this week:

do you decorate with traditional things year after year? what are they and can you show us? has there been a year when you didn't feel like dragging out the decorations and how did you handle that?

Like most people I have traditional things, certain Quilts I always display, and if the year is like this one, very few come out....because anything that comes out will have to be put away and I am

JUST  TOO TIRED

I put easy things out, and love lights so that will have to do but PLEASE tell me what you do???

(and to be honest our artificial tree stays up all year, I just plug in the lights at this holiday!

I'm sorry, things are out of sorts here, and I have lights out back, and on my evening walk, I walked around the other neighborhood to look at everyone's lights... LOVE , and walked 3.5 miles or so.

the entire fall and winter so far has been too hot for me in Colorado

the skies are sunsetting nicely
I'm in love with these two aussie puppies I talk to every day on my walk. The boy races around barking his head off, the girl stands quietly on a patio stone and licks my fingers... I love them..
I love hand sewing on my christmas spiral hexie at night, til I dropped a needle.... found it bless my angels!

my computer got rid of all my email addresses, then hid 2 weeks worth of emails (I just found hundreds of them from you guys and a slew of ads) (I'll be going thru them over the next few days)

I've baked several trays of different cookies, frozen some of each to have later on a mixed try, eating my way through the candy cane ones, and tiny pecan pies though!

No trad Christmas meal this year I'm going to try a new recipe for chicken enchiladas. Wish me luck.

several of my fave BBC series have specials this week, and here comes "the Traitors" new series

I'm dreaming of a white christmas, it's just a dream now...

Merry Christmas to you and your hubby, LeeAnna! I have small Christmas trees here and decorate them every year. The trees all have lights because that's my favorite Christmas thing - the lights on the tree♥

Merry Christmas, LeAnna, to you and Drew. I don't do as much holiday decorating these days. Did almost none in 2021 , the year my husband died (in Oct). Have several table top trees, but don't put up a big one anymore. My daughter was here last night. She picked up take-out turkey dinners for us, but we were both so full from snacking, that we didn't eat them. I'll have mine today. The other children and their families live in FL and TX.
We have a little bit of leftover snow from Tuesday on the ground, but another storm is due tomorrow afternoon.

Merry Christmas! Yes I do the traditional decorating. But there is a smaller pencil tree in my dining room that stays up all year. It's decorated with cardinals to remind me of those no longer with us. The one year I just couldn't get motivated to decorate - 1990. My dad died on Halloween and my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer 2 weeks later. My kids were little and couldn't understand why there were no signs of Christmas. My husband - who normally merely tolerates Christmas - finally just MADE me put up the tree about a week before Christmas - for the kids.

Merry Christmas, LeeAnna and Drew! The video of the top 5 dogs made me laugh! I love your Christmas hexie swirl - so pretty. For me, the must-have at Christmas are the lights, which means the tree, of course. I hope you have a lovely and peaceful day.
