1.Did you do the pledge of allegiance every morning and then sing a patriotic song?
we did. We stood, hand on heart and said I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the republic for which it stands
one nation under God indivisible for liberty and justice for all
we were taught the Golden rule in Sunday School and from adults in our lives.
2. what is your learning style, then and now? The main styles are auditory
(hearing) rote or memorization, visual (maybe reading or seeing charts)
kinesthetic (that's me, learn by doing something like writing or making
or touching) Are there other ways to learn I've forgotten? Is it still
your style today?
When I taught quilt making skills, I tried to cover all styles in
presentation to adults giving everyone a chance to find success.
In college, if I took notes on paper I'd remember the info better. Now I watch (for example a dance move) then try it in order to remember it. Must be kinesthetic!

Survivor, and Golden bachelor started last night... whee!!! Along with "High Potential" dancing with the stars, finale of Big Brother, and the return of Gilmore Girls my all time favorite show on Start TV

I am sewing a version of my spiral hexie block in light blues while watching TV this week
I'm sewing a Halloween quilt in the studio, well two actually.

The pig planter is Cute! Yes, we had the pledge every morning in school and my learning style is visual. My mind always allowed other thoughts to distract me when listening to a lecture class.
I'm sorry to hear you're having such pain again. Such interesting things to be seen on your walks. I so enjoyed seeing the new season of Survivor beginning last night. As always, a great mix of fascinating personalities.
Yes I grew up doing the Pledge of Allegiance every morning at school. And as a HS teacher, if I had a first period class we did the Pledge every day as well. Most of the smaller school districts in this area do a Veteran's Day program every year, with students doing patriotic songs and readings. And local veterans are honored guests.
Your flamingo skeleton is so fun, and I love the pig planter, too! We've been watching High Potential, too - good show. I forgot about the Pledge of Allegiance part of your conversation starter - when I was teaching, the 5th graders had the honor of leading the Pledge every day. It was something they greatly looked forward to - speaking on the PA system!

I am a visual/learn by doing kind of person. Though, as a teacher I covered all styles with young children. I did the pledge while growing up and as a teacher, we did a school wide pledge over the speaker each morning. Some traditions never fade.
