Welcome to this week's list of likes, starting with my camera's artsy program. When it snowed 4 more inches this week, I took out my camera and played. We haven't had much of any snow this whole winter so 4" that melted in two days, was a big like!
now we're back to brown everywhere... here is a portrait of the three of us... shadows look like we all have long legs but it's just....
now that's a smile.... I love him
our puppy who has such long legs!
We have made it past the one month mark! He is amazing, and so sweet. I've struggled with names but after watching Emily in Paris on Netflix this season, I thought....
Alfie! Yep, he looks like an alfie to me... and he seems to like it and we're getting less confused when calling him, what works best is me saying, "where's my puppy" in a singsong voice!!! He runs down the stairs, then rounds the corner and runs down the hall sliding into the final turn to come land at me sitting at the computer table! Laughing! panting! happy to be reunited again!
I had two bad migraines this week, probably neighbors putting down chemicals. He accompanied me into the bedroom, tapped my hand to say he was there, then went to his kennel bed and laid down. When I was able to see again an hour + later, he was still there, on his back, napping.
I love him....
I grew up with this song....

on our walk Alfie spotted these two, making me think he's going to be a bird or critter specialist when he grows up
robins are showing up and don't run from tall poodles
likewise, this squirrel didn't run from either of us!
He stopped in his tracks and looked up
after a long watch.... he turned to look at what the squirrel saw
our conversation starter this week:
What was your least favorite food as a child? Do you still hate it or do
you love it now?
liver in any form. Still don't like it
oily stinky fish in any form and yep, still don't like it
oysters and anchovies, (even now I feel sick thinking of the times these were forced on me)
the other hand, I LOVE okra and tomatoes, fried okra, and okra pickles. I love squash cooked on the stove sliced thinly with thin onions and sauted til soft and sweet in butter.
I like nearly any vege or fruit. My family used to hold special dinners out at a Greek restaurant in Tarpon springs Fl. where the specialty was an enormous Greek salad complete with anchovies. I made sure to share one with my sister Patti who would trade for the anchovies... score!
when I met my husband he had never eaten a lot of Southern foods I grew up with, and now loves them. We both draw the line at canned asparagus that both our mothers served. Only fresh for us steamed with butter thanks
In my 20's I developed several food allergies/sensitivities and had to stop eating beaf/pork/eggs/corn in any form/ eggs. Corn is hidden in a lot of American products, I read a book on all the derivatives. I still swell up if I accidentally eat something with a soy product in it, and that goes back to infancy.
I once had dinner with my boyfriend's parents and they were offended when I didn't eat the pork chop, so I made myself... in distress for 3 days til the pork completely left the building.
My sister kindly asked in a snarly voice " what DO you people eat?"
(Um, apparently anything but what you make, lol) Me: "I'll just cook our food while here"
start of something sewn...
tha's it this week, aside from good books, Emily in Paris new season and survivor on tv
please visit these fine folks and if you did an I Like post let me know to add in your link

I love Emily and Paris and Alfie is a wonderful name and you have the most beautiful smile and you are the most handsome boy, Alfie! I can't stand chipped beef on toast and I'm not an anchovy fan either. A while back, my dad and mom were visiting and my uncle was along for a pizza at a nearby restaurant. The boys ordered an anchovy and I thought - how bad can this be. It's pizza. NOPE! It was awful!
Yay, Alfie has his name! I’m so happy you have found your new companion.
ALFIE! Great name! When I was a preschooler, my best friend from down the street was named Alfie. We played together all the time.
Alfie is an awesome name!! The food that I hated the most as a kid was stewed tomatoes. My parents gardened on a huge scale and my mother canned everything. They both loved stewed tomatoes with crackers crumbled in. Made me gag just looking at them. I love a fresh tomato, and chunks cooked into sauces, etc. But those stewed ones - yuck! Not many veggies are as disgusting as canned asparagus either. I roast it most of the time. Actually have a bunch in the fridge right now that I plan to cook with supper tonight.
Alfie is a perfect name! So glad for all the joy he gives you! When I was growing up, my Dad loved to go fishing as a recreation, and so we ate a lot of fish, and I still like it. My Mom was not an enthusiastic cook, so as kids, my siblings and I often made recipes we saw in magazines, and we all became good cooks as adults, and we all like to try new foods. Happily, we don't have any food allergies --I know how allergies can affect digestion, or worse! When I met my Italian-born husband, I was introduced to many Italian foods I never knew about, but I loved them all, so I'm fortunate that way.
Emily in Paris is so fun. I love the clothes she wears!
Yay for Alfie! It fits him so well.
Alfie is absolutely perfect for that darling puppy of yours. Great "smile"
I just can't stand liver either. Makes me gag. Canned asparagus is so mushy and limp..no thank you. Fresh is best for sure.
Sorry you have so many allergies. I'm thankful that I don't have food allergies ... maybe it would keep me away from all the things that are not on my diet!
Sue
My mom was a great cook, but cubed steak was something I couldn't stand and I still don't like it. Alfie is a great name! Glad to read that he has adjusted well. Thank you for linking up!
Alfie is the perfect name for that sweetie! And I agree, absolutely no on canned asparagus - but fresh is delicious. You've had some more exciting adventures with food than I have - have never tasted anchovies or oysters. Happy Thursday!
