creatively speaking this week a bag and two needlebooks with beads

Here are a few things made this week... starting with a walking bag to carry phone, keys, camera etc

I start with the Christmas scrap bag of little pieces, organize them into shape and size ( this is fun for me, sorting like with like is soothing )

then I decide what to make. I took odd shapes to sew together for one side of my bag...

bits I like, such as a labrador in a hat, a stocking (my favorite part of gifts ) an angel

a small hand stamped muslin bit, and colors.
for the reverse side I took a left over image from making an apron from JoAnn's fabric
quilted both sides by themselves, placed RST, sewed around curving the bottom edge, flipped inside out, then needed a strap

A wide striped piece of fabric left from some project. cut at 3", quarter " seam leaving turning room in the center . Turn right side out, stuff with batting, close opening and sew lines of quilting. Attach to bag at sides by machine, DONE!

go for a walk now!

I finished the two needlebooks with a quick zig zag edge, and jute for a bow closure

then a more time consuming hand beading along the edges

but first spill the two bead containers

into the rug

no time to beat myself up for this... a full fourth of them sifted down to the pad quickly... crap!
Merry Christmas!!! lol
live and learn and move on

a  quilt from other years
with beads, put on at a table not in my lap... ahem

I have hexi's to put together in another spiral, this time for the skirt on my pink tree in the window

I'm baking, cooking, walking, reading, seeking a rescue poodle to live with me, and other stuff mentioned on Thursday's I LIke Post... I'll leave you with a pic from a recent sunset walk in our hood

It may be overly warm in Aurora Co. nowadays, but the skies are still pretty

Hope you can visit to see more pics on Thursdays, and join the I Like group if you'd like to share the small things to like in your week with us, let me know to add your link in!
for now a little cool beading/embroidery edge video

Never a dulloment in your craft room. Im trying to muster enthusiasm for making some folding blinds. Haven't sewn anything for about 6 months (have got over the withdrawal symptoms but it will be bad when I start again - won't be seen for days....or weeks)

Cute little bag, you look gorgeous ready for a walk! Sorry about the beads, searching them in the carpet is not fun! I cross my fingers and hope that you will find the poodle of your dreams.
Thank you for sharing your creative process and linking up.

That bag is just the cutest!!! Glad I'm not the only person who spills little bits into the carpet.
