What do you think of my eye. Can you tell how it's made? Does it look like a sketch? A drawing with pen and ink? A painting complete with texture built up?

I love birch, and I think this is birch but it's bolder than the ones I've seen before.
We were taking a walk in the nice warm winter day, when I saw the eye.
I could have made it by any artistic methods. I think it would be awesome as a quilt... look closer at the "quilting lines" in that first photo.
Inspiration is all around if you notice it. There is much to distract us though, from noticing.
This guy noticed me wandering around his front yard...
I think he was saying, "that's right! I've often looked at that tree,even climbed it a few times. I never in all my 9 lives thought a human would stop to look at it!"

Great photo's of the birch! I think they give it a scrub...water and a brush...every year!

They look kind of like aspen trees which I love. We had lots of them in the New Mexico mountains growing up, including several in our front yard. I remember driving up to the ski area in winter, my sister and I used to call them giant fields of wheat, because that's what they looked like to us, all skinny and tall and leafless. Wonderful

Nature is a Wonderful inspiration! And the birch knots are Very cool.
I believe it is a white birch. I grew up around trees. We had alot of birch.
I asked google about birch and aspens: Quote "Quaking Aspens are often confused with birch trees. Although aspen are somewhat similar in appearance to some species of birch, birch trees belong to an entirely different family of trees. Birch are famous for having bark that peels back like paper; aspen bark does not peel."

Beautiful art work. Think that might be an aspen which are quite plentiful her. Birch, not as much.

Nature stops me all the time - giving my husband lots of practice with patience. There is always something to be observed, especially if you get up close like you did.
The cat is so 'fluffy'!
The 'eyes' are brilliant - the first one reminded me of the contour lines on a map which also make great quilting patterns. xx
