I Like Thursday # 375 except..

life around here is challenging for the last few weeks,

despite wearing masks, staying away from people, and every precaution dh has come down with a horrible virus, is too weak to do anything, fever, nausea. We called a doctor to the house who said what it's not, covid or bacterial, ordered antinausea meds, and it continues closing on a week now.

I am not strong, I've had to do all the heavy lifting, I'm terrified of catching it, and then what will happen to Milo?

google will not allow me to upload pictures unless I give them compete access with no limits... I do not know what to do, so this post will not hold any of the photos I planned on. I have pretty photos and a story...

I may have to stop blogging since it's not safe to remove all limits on the settings. Some people actually agreed to their demand and it didn't help.  I rely on blogging to keep in contact with people.  google blocked email too in Europe, to those who didn't capitulate.

I wish I was more tech savvy to find some email not connected to google. I wish I could watch videos not connected to google, and there was a way to save my blog.. google greed wins I lose.

Prompt this week

Would you rather go apple picking or carve pumpkins at home?

have you done either or both of these? what kind of apples and what was picking them like?  Do you always get pumpkins in the fall, or grow them yourself, do you keep the insides for eating? Remember any pumpkins that caught your eye or a pumpkin festival in your area?

I've not picked apples and only carved a pumpkin once.... why did I pick this prompt!!!?

Overall I would probably like the art of pumpkin carving I suppose. Our neighbor in Maryland had apple trees and gave me some. He didn't spray them and they had a number of bug bites and bird pecks, and black spots but tasted good. Smaller than commercially sold apples.

again, sorry about this post, if google continues restricting and harassing me, maybe I'll try another platform, and another way to view videos. I so loved blogging.... and am tired of all this, and I had such lovely pictures to share of fall and Milo.

now, please visit these fine folks to see what they liked this week!

  2. I'm sorry you are having so many problems with blogging. Maybe someone else using the same platforms that you use will have the answers. I use Wordpress - a paid version as my husband does a lot on the computer and between the two of us we use it enough to be worth it to pay (for us) there is a free version also - maybe check and see what other platforms there are for free and a fee.
I don't know why it wouldn't let you post your photos.
I like to both pick apples and carve pumpkins but I find carving pumpkins too hard for my hands now so I guess I will stick with apples.

  3. Wordpress might the your solution. I haven't used it but know others who do. I'm sorry that google is making blogging so difficult. I would REALLY miss your blog if you stopped!!!!!

I carved a lot of pumpkins with my kids over the years. It was fun at the time, but not something I've done recently. My older daughter's family grew their own pumpkins this year and the 3 kids carved their own. I've never gone to a big apple picking venue, but we had multiple apple trees when I was a kid. Picking those apples was a big big job! We had a crank type peeler that clamped onto the kitchen table.

  4. I'm sorry blogger is giving you so much trouble, and wish I knew enough to be able to help. Changing to WordPress might help - you would just have to learn a different format. The apples from our tree are always smaller and a bit buggy, but if you can get around that, they do taste good!

  5. I am finding google a lot of a pain these days as well. It seems like every time I start my computer up it is now asking me to sign into all the google apps. I am so over it. Go back to being easy or I will find somewhere else to be google. It is that easy.
Anyway, sending you hugs and love for dealing with the most frustrating google.

  7. Oh dear. I am sorry that you are having such a tough time. I haven't had that issue with google. I hope I didn't unwittingly give them full access. It is a darn shame that corporations have become so incredibly greedy.

  9. I sure hope hubby feels better soon, that sounds miserable. I hope you don't stop blogging, we'd sure miss you lots. Yes, Google is a pain in the arse. I have to maintain a gmail address just so I can comment on blogger blogs. I hope Milo is okay. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

  11. LeeAnna - so sorry to hear about all the tech challenges. There is no doubt that tech companies can be incredible greedy. How much money do they really need? Meanwhile, the little folks are just trying to stay connected and encourage each other. I wish I had suggestions for you ....

We used to pick apples at home - my Dad had three or four apple trees, and the youngest got to climb into the upper branches to pick the apples since we were the lightest! I have not picked apples since! Before we moved to Montana, we would get pumpkins and carve them every year. We cheated a little and bought the cool patterns you can get with the carving tools. We did it the first year in Montana, and the deer came along and ate them. So that was that!

  12. Goodness, that sounds like such a nasty bug your hubby has. Hopefully, improving as I write this. And yes, google is annoying and contrary sometimes. I'm often frustrated too. And I've often thought of switching to Word Press. Hang in there you.
