No I don't remember where I saw the image I used to make the patterns |
For this week's sewing round-up I have been busy... First off the color
of the month at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge is bright blue, so here is
the sweater I made this month...
I love poodles! (Milo asked that I color his hair pink)
Mainly this week I've been painting and trying to catch up on the Sketchbook Revival videos before they go away...but this isn't the time to discuss painting....
I made myself stop making star blocks, and choose borders before I tried to make this kind sized!paper piecing block pattern found on craftgossip site |
It's ready to quilt.... but I wasn't done with color so I took out last year's lozenge blocks from the RSChallenge and counted them
184 almost half dark edged, half light edged. I put a blanket over the current projects on the design wall, decided that a layout of 18 blocks across by 10 down would be a good sized throw and use most of the blocks so

wow! now what? this center will be 54" X 60"
big to quilt on my small home machine. How to break the project down into workable sized sections then rejoin after quilting? I just couldn't think clearly so I began sewing them into 3 block units
nice! so good to see it getting condensed, the joining covering all the uneven raw edges,... then I put up some different black with color specks fabrics to see how it would look... not there yet but I am wishing I had a long arm quilting machine about now
Beautiful projects, especially those sweaters.
ReplyDeleteA 54' x 60" quilt is very doable on your domestic sewing machine. Use your walking foot and do some organic wavy lines down through the centers of the columns. You can do this.

Those little sweaters are adorable.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a week of colorful fun, LeeAnna!!
ReplyDeleteHappy to see those lozenge blocks again. I like where the quilt is headed. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteThose little sweaters just crack me up!! They are SO cute! Your lozenge quilt is really looking good. I do love a good scrappy quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat little 'poodle sweater' is just too stinkin' cute!
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great fabrics for those sweaters. I made the Lozenge Quilt with BH ... well, I started with her L&E challenge but mine took 2 years. Yours is looking great. Wondering what your border fabric will be. Catch you next week!
ReplyDeleteThose sweaters are so cute! Love what your lozenge blocks are becoming. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
