Cheers! |
I decided to choose as my starting word of the year, "Recover"
word choices has a list of words to start you on your search
It
has a lot of meanings, among them, physically, emotionally, mentally,
and historically.
I think you should pick "play" Mama... I love it when you laugh! It makes me nearly wag my tail off! |
so for the first half
of the year I hope to recover, and return to my charming
positive self, one who lives alongside hope. I considered "hope" for my word, as I have felt nearly despondent for the last few years so maybe I'll pick that word up mid year.
I learned that working to create was just as valuable as when it came easily. I could direct my feelings and or escape them, in order to create.
I have a list of goals for this coming 12 months...but don't need to outline them here. I want to learn and practice 4 particular art skills this year, finish some things, start even more. I'd like to play piano again, and be able to read a novel with attention since so much of this year was reading the same sentence over and over. I'd like to write fiction again. So much of my personality was controlled by the lack of security this year, not surprisingly but while some friends railed against not being able to mingle, I just wanted to be safe. That seemed almost unreachable.Safety is important to me.
just capture a thought or gesture |
I liked the quote on Seth's blog yesterday
"Here’s to justice, health and peace of mind as we choose an attitude of possibility and resilience in 2021"
Going to a party!
it's a good word and it fits perfect to so much things... I hope we will recover from all the sad things we saw in 2020... may 2021 bring a real recovery..
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year LeeAnna, Drew and Milo !
ReplyDeleteRecover I hope a lot of people are inspired and influenced while visiting your blog.
hugs,
Joanne
I think last years word can't count because the whole planet turned upside down. Recover is a good word for all of us I think. But Mile might be onto something with his pick play. Of course if he is like my dogs that word would mean many many hours of playing with them. Smile. I think I need to think about my art goals for 2021. I was just so excited to end 2020 that I didn't do much thinking ahead, so thanks for reminding me I should do that. Wish you a great 2021 LeeAnna. I hope you and Milo do get lots of play and you have fun and creative time and of course, recover. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThe quote is a really good one. I haven't chosen a Word yet this year. It may take me a while to figure out what direction I want to go. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteI'm just gonna let this year unfold day-to-day lol We shall see as the year wears on... Happy New Year! and may you find support for and joy in all your goals :)
ReplyDeleteWe all have a lot of recovering to do in 2021. Happy New Year from all of us!
ReplyDeleteLovely post and word! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteA very lovely post. For me I am just going to see what happens. I do have hope so maybe that will sustain me. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI'll be looking forward to seeing where your word of the year and its accompanying goals take you (creatively speaking) in 2021, LeeAnna.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words and thoughts, It's always good to have a word in mind to help keep us focused, i've never been one for resolutions.
ReplyDeleteMay we be strong in 2021, safe & ever creative. Happy PPF Tracey x
Love that quote. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you; I chose safety over mingling and I would again. Of course, we are fortunate to have books to read and an abundance of supplies to create with. It helped to focus on what we have rather than what we were missing.
ReplyDeleteHere's to a better year ahead.
Good word. We get to choose what we fill that "void" in our life from the virus with. I choose joy and good things. Stay safe and healthy.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your heartfelt post and thoughtful choice of word(s)... I think many of us can relate to "recover" as a word choice, and I'm hopeful that we'll all be able to "hope" again soon. Wishing you a healthy, happy, and very safe new year.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, love your drawings. Cute dog. Anesha
ReplyDeleteI think you have chosen a great word for 2021. I think you justified it perfectly, too. I really like your drawings. They are cute and clever. I hope 2021 finds you joyous, safe, healthy, and hopeful.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I had planned to be here earlier, but my electricity went off early in the day yesterday. Wichita got SLAMMED with ice and snow, making 2021’s first day seem more like a day in 2020 than the start of a new year.
"Recover" - good word choice. It will be mine too.

I like your way of thinking about "open the door". I've propped mine wide open to my imagination and creativity. Quite scary and oh so much fun, which was why I loved white water rafting and thought how cool it would be to a white-water guide, once upon a time. Lots of color going on over here, thanks to your inspiration, LeeAnna. Big hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thoughts and drawings. I always enjoys your artistry!
ReplyDeleteLA - knowing you and your laser focus on things that are important to you, I am confident that you will experience the recovery that you are seeking. Happy New Year to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteI too create quietly in my office just because I have to.
