lozenge blocks are 3.5" X 6.5" at the momemt |
the lozenge blocks are cornered with dark as the fabrics this month are to be light. Next month I'll do the mirror image of dark neutrals with white corners.
I use light neutrals as backgrounds all year with the monthly colors of the challenge so for this month I chose ones with cool prints.
some close ups
and I did several in light neutrals against white as well.
My plan for these at the moment is to combine them with the other improv log cabin blocks into one quilt top

Pretty little pinwheels! The smiling star made me smile, too!
ReplyDeleteI love trying to figure out how not throw away scraps. Your pieces are really beautiful, and nice thinking too how to not throw out the scraps!
ReplyDeleteOMG....the smiling star point is the best! And your mini with the cut off triangles from the lozenges is awesome!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilting ~ so creative ~ a work of art ~ ^_^

I saw part of a show yesterday about how to keep your points even and how to make those pinwheels in fours. I don't sew like that (my stitches are wonky and I tear everything), but I sure LOVE what you have accomplished, LeeAnna.
ReplyDeleteCombining the Endless Diamonds with your Log Cabin blocks sounds like a great idea, LeeAnna! I like the fact that you chose to use the more heavily print LIGHT Neutral scraps for those Lozenge blocks. Can't WAIT to see how you will quilt the tiny off-cut Pinwheel mini!!
ReplyDeleteYou really did turn your light neutrals into beauty! Love the contrast between the size of the lozenges and the size of the pinwheel piece.
ReplyDeleteI like that black contrast in that quilt, and the yellows are so bright! I smiled back ;)
ReplyDeleteHi LeeAnna,
ReplyDeleteWhere's the lime green ? I thought that was nutral :)
hugs,
Joanne
What a fun surprise to see that little face peeking out of the yellow star point. Made me laugh out loud! Your neutral blocks look just as good as the color ones. I chose not to add any neutral blocks to my RSC collection this year.
ReplyDeleteYour fussy cut Endless Star block brought a smile to everyone's face. See there is hope. I skipped RSC this year, so I need to buckle down and figure out what block(s) to do next year.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with the Slow Sunday Stitching crew!
Love the neutrals!
ReplyDeleteLove that neutral star and the sunny yellow with a smile. They are going to make such a fun quilt.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! I love the smile on that yellow one! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I love these dark and neutral colors. The sun is a fun piece. Your sewing talent is amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour happy yellow star block made me smile right back! Thanks for sharing all your lovely blocks with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteLove what you are making with these neutrals, so effective!
ReplyDeleteI like your plan about the stars and the logs. The smiling star made me grin!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many colors that we often forget how lovely black and neutral are together. What great designs, LeeAnna. And clever to plan to mix these with your Endless stars and log cabins. I look forward to seeing your progress.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, LeeAnna! These are all my favorite colors - the browns, golds, yellows, tans. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteInteresting blocks on your design wall the yellow ones are so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteLove all the soft neutrals and the little stars are really special! Nice work! x K
