Above is one of my quilts finished last week, with the golden painted wooden word on the bottom. I'll write the post about both finished quilts tomorrow. I like finishing projects almost as much as starting them!
At first I thought this audio book was weird but it was hysterically funny, so I continued to listen and realized it is very meaningful. To me it was an allegory of how to love people despite their weird conditions, while telling a whimsical story
Now I'm listening to and it's a current day librarian mystery series.
Watching on TV
This is US, Bachelorette, Amazing Race, Escape to the Chateau (peacock) Emily in Paris (netflix) great British baking show, and movies... we watched on netflix this weekend the movie, "Holiday in the wild"
lost love, found love, and found meaning in life at an elephant sanctuary. You KNOW I love elephants, well also the plot and actors in the movie as it turned out.
The library is about to take my second book before I'm finished, but I'm reading
We made a pear crumble to drool over, and it was delish to the last bite
This week we made Little Penguins' pumpkin loaf, and it couldn't have been better!!! I subbed orange juice concentrate for the orange peel, no fresh oranges available. She has the link on her site!
Last weekend during a heat wave, we had some blueberry cake with PUMPKIN WHIPPED CREAM, out on the porch...
I would love a bite, thanks mama!!! |
good to the last lick! |
I liked changing the closet to winter clothes and still having room in there. Every time I go in I'm glad I got rid of things that I didn't wear.
This made me laugh this week! "pets being jerks"

nearly 11 MILLION people have been infected and 241,000 that's THOUSAND Americans have died so far. More than in wars, more than in attacks, and in less than one year. Still happening daily
Do not believe anyone who says this virus is not devastating... the whole country is under siege and I see very few people in masks here. Want to get back to activity? Put on a mask, if we all wear them we'll all be safer.
MILO"S MOMENT
this is where food comes from, I like treats!!! |
come over here and let me lick your face aunt Diane!!!
So far Mama hasn't cut her treat up yet but sooner or later she'll tear up her toys too!
Now sit! Stay! visit these nice friends to read their list of likes too!
love your closet... even with excessive diy ours looks not like expected ;O) you got me at pumkin whipped cream... I'm daydreaming now LOL
ReplyDeleteI love your thankful piece! Wow on the size of your closet! Love it! Waving at Milo!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is very pretty. There's very little mask wearing here and our infection numbers sure show it with infections on the rise. We don't understand not wearing a mask either. Milo, I hope you have a super fun day. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your posts on Friday. It’s funny, you read book 1 in the library series, by Jenn McKinlay. I was gifted #5 and read it out of order! “Gasp”. I’ll go back and catch up. I’m definitely going to try the orange pumpkin bread. And pumpkin whipped cream...ooooh, yum!
ReplyDeleteHopefully we can overcome our differences. I don't understand why people won't wear masks when they must go out - or why they're going out when they don't have to. I know staying home can be boring but life is what you make of it. I like my home and I like being alive. So I will wear a mask and mostly stay home.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is pretty. Nearly everyone I see in Maryland is wearing their mask, this virus is dangerous and deadly. I wish the politicians would work together, our country is very divided right now. The pumpkin whipped cream looks yummy. Cute photos of Milo. Take care, enjoy your day! Have a great weekend ahead!
I enjoyed the Christmas movie about the elephants, too! And pumpkin whipped cream - yum! Have fun ripping up that new fabric - of course, Milo understands that!
ReplyDeleteMost people wear masks here in the stores and I'm glad! I am NOT happy with my closet though when I see how neat and tidy yours is! Maybe I'll work on that today! Love your quilt!
ReplyDeleteI've read that Library Lover's series too, and enjoyed each one. I'm currently reading the most recent Bakeshop mystery. Cozy mysteries have become my favorite kind of relaxation reading - not too deep causing me to think, not too scary, but just enough mystery to keep me interested.
ReplyDeleteOK - that pumpkin whipped cream made ME want to lick the plate like Milo. Yum!! I hate bananas personally but my husband loves them, so I made him banana pudding last weekend with actual banana slices in it. Must have been good because he ate it all.
Don't you just love being a tastetester, Milo? I sure do. Your mom is sure one wonderful baker!
ReplyDeleteI don't know any of these books or shows lol What a beautiful poodle! That video is from 2018. Sadly, we'll never learn these lessons :(
ReplyDeleteit's my dream to start a movement... one of peace and growth so the video still has meaning for me! And you too, I know that. All is not lost yet, we can still unite as a country to thrive again, to pull together to see each other as family that we love not family that we tolerate
DeleteNice closet.
ReplyDeleteI may just listen to one of those books.
I hope you are feeling better about the world this week and moving on
absolutely, it's all good to me...
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYour Pear Crumble Pie looks so yummy! I'm envious of your closet...it's so big and roomy. Sorry to here Milo's new toy has lost a leg. He seems to have loved it too much..lol Have a great day!
That quilt is beautiful! Congratulations on finishing just in time for Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI really like This Is Us too but I have missed so many episodes, I would like to begin at the very beginning and watch every episode from the entire 7(?) seasons. I just watched the very first show again (where the triplets are born).
Hi LeeAnna! Oh, I love Jenn McKinlay - we've read all of her series. Holiday in the Wild sounds like a good movie - I love elephants, too. Geez, I love Ellie Alexander's series, too. I think we're on book 8 or so, with a few more to go. Pumpkin whipped cream - yummo or what?! Gosh, that cat at the top of the escalator is too funny. Just laying there - yes, you shall walk around me. Masks - gotta wear them. I am working at home today and wearing a mask. I have some new flooring going in and I asked them to wear a mask too. I don't want to get sick. Period. Aww, sweet Milo got a new toy. You deserve it. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteYour closet is so tidy, and how lovely it must be to have all that space. Haven't read that book, but the cover makes me grin. I started watching that show and stopped (not sure why), so I might have to go finish it. Milo, you cutie!
ReplyDeleteOMG, your closet is so big. Old houses (ours is over 100) may have character, but closets and multiple bathrooms, not so much). I tried to find an library audiobook to listen to today, but very few that were available interested me. I only listened to the one I downloaded for about 10 minutes and returned it. I guess if I want any, I'll have to put them on hold. Right now I have too many print books out and can't get them all read. Our stretch of unseasonably warm weather has ended, so maybe now I'll find more time to read and sew.
ReplyDeletePat
Your closet looks awesome. The animals being jerks is hilarious. I sat and giggled through the whole thing. That was a great movie with Rob Lowe. Yep wear the darn mask. Milo you are a great disectionist.
ReplyDeleteMmm... crumble. And pumpkin whipped cream! Those jerky pets made me laugh. Those octopuses are cute!
ReplyDeleteYou had me drooling at the pumpkin whipped cream! Wonderful post full of beautiful treasures and sweet Milo. Looking forward to seeing that pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteHere’s a post that best describes my view of our world at this point in time;

Nice job on the closet organization. That pumpkin whipped cream sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing your Thanksgiving quilt.
ReplyDeleteI don't know any of the books, films, TV programmes you have been entertained by, (apart from the British Bake-off) but your pie looks yummy as does the pumpkin whipped cream.
I spent a lovely 20 minutes watching the jerky animals. Fancy pulling a lion's tail! And the octopus was quite scary.
Cats can be very mean.
Your closet looks very tidy, I'm still wearing my in-between clothes as one day I can wear a t-shirt and the next I need a jersey.
I haven't had the opportunity to listen to the TED talk. But will soon.
Have a lovely weekend,
Lisca
That is a good Ted Talk. We have so much division in America right now, it is sad. I cleaned out my closet a month ago and while it was a terrible chore, I am so glad I did it! lol Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteROFL!! Milo, you are SEW funny!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. I'm late for Friday Smiles, but I wanted to say that I admire your finishing your quilt. I swear I haven't heard of or read any of the books and I don't watch the same shows as you. However, Milo steals my heart every time you show him. And, I almost forgot. LOVE how you arrange your closet, too.
ReplyDeleteI read Nothing to See Here and although a little odd, it had a great message. I clean out my closet but have a hard time parting with items. Not sure why. Milo only tore off one leg? I wonder how long the other legs will last!!
