Reading/audio books
7) I finished Leaving time by J. Piccoult... oh my... I didn't figure out the mystery til the last bit! So good... and such a reminder that humans are killing off elephants by the hundreds for their tusks... projections are there will be none left in Africa in 20 years because of humans. Highly recommend the book.
Tried to listen to another one by her but sent it back early, it was on a subject I did not want to hear. I forget I don't have to finish books or movies.... I like that it's my choice to drop a book!
Next up was this audio book
The Whispered Word by Ellery Adams.... shaping up to be excellent! A group of women who have been damaged by life, find each other and friendship in a book seller's shop, then solve mysteries.
8) My reading like, is that I was only 10 pages from finishing A Forgotten Murder by Jude Devereaux when the library took it back! Wah! But! it was available so I can finish it tonight! Another one good to the last sentence in the book! (Third in the Medlar series)
Watching
9) We watched a movie on Netflix, "The Hundred foot journey" that was surprisingly wonderful!! I took a chance on it, the last movie we watched on Netflix was awful but this one was so good! At the end, we found out it was produced by Oprah and Steven Spielberg.
10) Big Brother is back... I was just saying of all the shows one could film in a pandemic it would be that one! We tried the show Time Team America... but sadly it isn't nearly as good as the BBC version... we have so little history. World of Dance, 90 day fiance, Housewives of NYC, and some BBC shows are on the tv. I love tv.... and it's about to get sparse. We only have one more show in "The crown" which is EXCELLENT this season, and one more Midwives to watch on dvr.. any suggestions?
events
11) the Mancuso brothers are doing an online quilt show... I LOVE going to quilt shows, hearing lectures, shopping, meeting people! Well, hard times led to this year's show being online... find it here

ooh the little birds... we missed the moving of the little ones this year. the nest im empty now, no second time this year... even the birds think that this year is haunted...
ReplyDeleteSweet little birdies and Milo, too. Love dropping by to see your colorful, creative world!
ReplyDeleteHi LeeAnna! Aww, that birdie picture is so funny. Normally, I would be all for not disturbing them - but we had the whole bird-in-the-vent-issue in July. So, I'm not feeling the love towards birdies yet. COOL about your plants from last year's seeds. I've always wanted to try that . . . So thrilling to see this. WE are watching Big Brother, as well. And Tough As Nails right afterward. Love Island is coming back on 8/24 - it's cheesy but we got hooked last year. It's slightly better than nothing . . . maybe. HAHA! Take care, my friend. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your likes today! I especially like the fact that your going to try dancing with zoom. I just recently learned about contra dancing. It was new to me!
ReplyDeleteYou are correct-tv is dwindling bad here. I’m glad you found some things to watch. Even birds aren’t around in our 115 heat. Ugh August is tough around here but your likes are sweet.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really nice list! Those sweet birds look cozy and that baby elephant is so adorable. Hey Milo, I'm glad you survived that ordeal my friend. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThe Hundred Foot Journey was a charming movie. I've watched it about 3 times on TV, and went to it in the theater when it first came out.
ReplyDeleteI've saved that quilt show link so I can check it out after work today. Thanks for sharing. I've never tried making Tumbling Blocks, so I may have to give those a try.
That baby elephant with the bananas is adorable! And I love your EPP tumbling blocks; optical illusions always make me happy. I've been doing a little EPP lately too since I've been embroidering those little blocks that are then EPPed together. But the tiny stitches are weirdly hard on my hands so I can only go for a little while. I don't seem to have that problem with my knitting quite as much so I go back and forth.
ReplyDeleteLove baby beans and tiny white flowers in the garden! I have them, too. The movie you recommended on Netflix sounds good, so I put it on my list. I like Jodi Picoult's books, but they can be hard to read sometimes - for the topic - but she does do her research!
ReplyDeleteHello. This is a great way to spread happy thoughts. I would love to join. Here is the link to my post:

I am going to have to remember "The Hundred Foot Journey". We are always looking for something good to watch on Netflix. I love it that you saved dried beans from last year's plants and planted them this year! Way to circumvent Monsanto! :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your birds, painting, and lovely flower block!
ReplyDeleteI'll look for that movie and I just checked an audio book from the library...online and I'm enjoyied it! The Hearts of Horses...you would like it too I think. Love seeing your art and what you are sewing. I'm decluttering...not nearly as much fun! Happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI love your flower quilt. It's just beautiful. I'll look into that movie on Netflix. Your chicken and rice looks yummy! I'm glad Milo got rewarded for his beauty treatment!
ReplyDeleteHad to sneak a quick read of your likes in between all that's going on here. You always have such fun things to post. I thoroughly enjoyed the 100 Foot Journey!
ReplyDeleteThose birds are so sweet and what a beautiful quilt! Thanks for sharing with us at Encouraging Hearts and Home. Pinned.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of things! That chicken/rice looks lovely. Wish I could cook.
ReplyDeleteGreat likes. The little birds are so sweet. Aren't bean blossoms so lovely? Gorgeous art quilt, and love your painting. Don't you just love that series by Ellery Adams? Oh Milo, I am sorry your mama is mean to you. Bobbin thinks so sometimes too, but she sure enjoys being clean and almost shiny white afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI did watch a Tom Petty concert online and danced in my bedroom, but contra dancing would be a stretch! Love the pink heart. So much in one week when you keep track.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful, LeeAnna. I love all the contrasting greens. The pink pops against the greens so nicely.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, if a story has lost my interest, but I want to know the ending, I read backwards from the last chapter until I find out what happened. Most times, I'm hooked so I go back to where I left off and read the story.
Milo, I wondered what was different about you in today's pix. It's a cool look. :-)
LeeAnna, this week I wrote a post that fits I Like Thursday. Hurrah. Here's the link -- https://www.su-sieeemac.com/2020/08/13-things-on-my-desk-that-i-like.html
I've been enjoying your sewing. Those flowers are lovely. Wow - you have been seriously busy lately!!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet birdies. We have a bird house at the end of the porch that produces 2 or 3 hatches a year. I think your little white flower is an alyssum. I never could read Jodi Piccoult, although she was very popular at the library. Her themes were just too grim for me. Currently reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, but it's not grabbing me. I'm trying to stick it out because it's the last book in the bunch I got from the library and it got good reviews. Glad Milo is squeaky clean again.
ReplyDeletePat
Those birds are beyond adorable. A few years ago a nest of sparrows took up residence in a string of Christmas lights so I had to leave the lights up until they left in late spring. It was always fun to see the babies little heads pop up whenever I came out the back door.
ReplyDeleteOh those sweet bits do, your sewing, painting and Milo! Your posts always make me smile LeeAnna. Thank you. I really needed to read I Like posts today and managed mine today 🤔
ReplyDeleteAnd that was sweet birds; not bits 😁
ReplyDeleteawww, sweet birds. (smiled hugely at the tiny bean growing) Thanks so much for taking time from your day to share your birding with us at IRBB this week.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe baby birds are adorable, they look like swallows. I loved the baby elephant video. Your quilt is pretty and I love the heart on the canvas. I am glad Milo got a treat after being tortured. Thank you for linking up your post and critters. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great new week ahead.
Cute little birds, I also think they are some kind of swallows. Oh, and we love yellow rice! YUM. Hope you've had a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteCatching up with the Pet Parade. It's been hectic here so I am glad you joined us. The sewing looks so much fun and I love the library Zoom!!
