While my guitar gently weeps... paper pieced guitars

I took a moment away from the little guitars and the rainbow scrap challenge  but am now trying to catch up with the guitar colors. Today I made a yellow/ gold one and a red one.
These patterns are from paper panache, and very intricate. I could applique one in minutes, but each block paper pieced takes over an hour.

That includes ripping out incorrect angles tho...

Note the pattern pieces cut apart.
 I took the original pattern, cut the sections apart carefully, darkened their outside edges with pen, placed them apart on a sheet of paper, and used that to copy  the pattern.

The designer didn't allow for seam allowances, and I make more mistakes if I don't have seam allowances marked,  so I do that part myself.

The red was so brilliant before piecing but with all the little angles, mostly dark red shows. Still, I would love a red guitar, wouldn't you? The photos are darker than they are in life.

They are really cute all lined up. I may even sew the blocks together like this, with no sashing. I like them in a row.
(The paper is still on them, so they look wonky on a design wall)

I want to do a black one too. I have some black scraps with really glittery silver on them...

One sees so few banner quilts going sideways like this, but there are are places where this would fit well. Hopefully we'll find a house with room for a studio, and a music room.

    OMG...don't get me started on the merchandise in the stores. Luckily I'm not a shopper...so I don't see it...much! Love your guitars....you know I don't do tiny...but sure do appreciate those of you who can.

    I'm so glad you've gotten back to your guitars - they are so amazing! They are fun in all of the colors! I zoomed in to see the background of the red one, and I have some of that in my stash! Almost gone now because I've used it in lots of projects.

    I have loved your pieced guitars and am so happy to see you back at them. I plan to do a guitar quilt for Bruce in 2017, but will definitely appliqué them. Glad to see you back in the swing of things!

    Such a wonderful collection of guitars. My FIL just asked when I would decorate for Christmas... seems he got some snow globes for the kids. I told him the day after thanksgiving... but my kids tend to start pulling things out Thanksgiving night... so the elf on the shelf has some christmas things to see when he arrives that Friday.

    They look good in a row, like they are hanging up ready to be played. I like the royal blue and turquoise best. Depends on the lighting also. Don't know how you managed such a difficult piecing, congrats.

    I love all the pp guitars especially the red one and enjoyed Drews' tiny desk christmas concert insert!!
    OMG, Jake is an amazing young music man, i love his range of music and especially when he plays JS Bach!!

    I do the same thing with a lot of the paper pieced patterns. I want to tell you I LOVE those guitars.. you do the most interesting and wonderful blocks!

    I love the guitars arranged in a row like this. I can imagine it on a studio wall.

    Went to a "tour of trees" on Friday afternoon with 2 friends. Very fun to see the Christmas decor, but seemed way too early considering the unusual 75 degree weather we are having. About 30 degrees above normal.

    You, my friend, have the patience of a saint! Those guitar blocks are great! I really like them all, and I can't say any one of them is my favorite color...I do feel drawn to the yellow though.

    Setting them horizontally, in one long thin strip would be perfect! They look just right all lined up, like they have been leaned against a wall while the musicians just popped out.

    You pick the neatest blocks Leanna! I did your cows blocks last year, and have one last one to finish, a Christmas cow! I love the banner idea for your guitars, and hey! I have that guitar arm(?) wavy strip fabric in purples and greens!
