What would you watch on a purple TV set???

Finishing up the month of purple at superscrappy  my purple TV.
Wish I had one like this, don't you?  (it's only missing rabbit ear antennae and a layer of dust!)

The Paper pieced Home
The seams aren't pressed well so it looks like it's not aligned, but it is.

There are all three sets to the left... can't have too many!

There is a bit of static on the brown and blue ones, but the sewing show is coming in loud and clear on this purple one!

I've been collecting fabrics to remind me of the 50's and 60's for a couple years now, but haven't found exactly the right pattern idea to make the quilt yet.

These ladies seemed to fit the era...
When I was growing up, my people made their own clothes so naturally as soon as I could take a class in sewing I did. I made my clothes all through junior and senior high school. Halter tops, hot pants, jumpsuits, and lots of pretty summer dresses.

As long as I can remember I have loved TV.

She came from this fabric
can't wait to see what else comes from using this.

And
Goody for me to cut into a piece this big!

A couple weeks ago my friend Mari, at academicquilter   sent me this surprise...
She said it looked like me...

awe shucks! It sure does!

I might just make a shirt today...

    Love the channel you're on!

Just watched a gardening show and one theme was Alice in wonderland! Tea cups and tea pots and even two pink flamingos!
Weather is warming up! Just have to see what the summer brings here in the garden!

  8. I love your purple TV, and the channel you are on. Here we most often watch sports. My husband loves it, and I love it because I can have fun with my hexies while he's watching it.

  11. The book I am reading for my Book Club this month is set in the 1950s and was describing a purple Cadillac in a recent chapter. I think you need one of those to go along with your TVs! I love the sewing lady on your purple TV. Just like you, it reminds me of family, especially my mom, sewing all our clothes when I was growing up.

  12. Very fun TV's. After 2 months of making my own paper pieced blocks, I have a whole new appreciation on what it takes to make those blocks look perfect. Beautiful piecing!

  29. Completely adorable. I want to see that sewing show! I started sewing in summer school before 7th grade and never stopped, though my clothing sewing is pretty much fallen off the radar.

  33. The tvs are great. When I was just out of college and living away from my home in Texas, I glued a bunch of farm animals to my tv set to remind me of home. I'd do it again, too, if my screen was not flat! I liked it. And I would watch anything on a purple tv - I love purple!
