red scrap sugar cone block

unfinished size 6.5 inches

As if the mugs weren't enough red, here's this month's scrappy star in red!
The color red stimulates brain wave activity. It increases creative energy on all levels.

I took a workshop in color vibration and it's effect on people. Fascinating! Apparently I need more orange/red in my life. A lot of my quilts have blue/turquoise/green/purple in them. I think I use
all the colors actually, except beige.
Red really resonates with me, how about you?

What will I do with this little rainbow of blocks??

I already made my stained glass blocks in red, but will put them on the blog next week to finish up the month at http://superscrappy.blogspot.com/
Check out the other red scrap projects too!

  1. Did you know that people who attended the Oprah show wore red the most compared to other talk shows?
Love the scrappy projects that you do!
    Take care,

  2. Those blocks look good! I don't use much red but we have a lot of orange around the house. I'm mostly staying away from blue and enjoy all neutrals including beige.

  5. Had to let you know how much your black and white backgrounds are helping decide which to use with a rainbow WIP I have....I think i'm going to go with the whites. THANKS!!! (BTW...I love them both...which is why I'm having trouble deciding...but since I always use black...I'll try white.)

  6. No beige for me! I'm not naturally drawn towards reds but have been using them for something recently and am really enjoying it. It went together really easily, so maybe that was my brainwaves being stimulated! Your scrappy stars (and the tea cups too) are ace.

  9. The red does add stimulation to your quilt. Hope beige doesn't feel left out though.

  14. Great post - did you hand cut or die cut the cones?
