I Like Thursday # 479 making turkeys in elementary school, dogs in dresses, and funnies

welcome to this week's list of likes.... interrupted by some dislikes... ahem...

my computer, with no warning, failed. Completely. Totally. now I'm sort of using dh's computer and updated operating system which I find unintelligible. I. Hate. most. Technology and I'll go ahead and throw my Iphone in there with that.

I will do my best to list some things, but can't promise pictures, (grrrrrrrr)

For fun watch this

Fine Dining

I had egg whites to use up, so I mixed them with cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon cardamom, soaked the stale sour dough slices, fried them in butter, and voila!

the best French toast I've made... we had enough to have all week too

Highlight of my week was meeting this cutie! A 6 month old maltese poodle.... in a cute sundress!

she took one look at me, hopped up on her back legs and wiggled her front legs in the air at me. Loved talking to her mom who also grew up in Florida! She spent, wait for it, $4000 for this pup.

I want one too!!! with lots of dresses!

Saw this heart shaped leaf on that same walk.... now I need a dog of my own again

I have begun quilting this now.... it's a joy to work on

our conversation starter this week is:

Do you remember making construction paper turkeys in elementary school? using your own hand? coloring them in or pasting on cut out colored feathers? taking them home and having a parent put them up in the house?

I loved making hand turkeys! I didn't like using those fat crayons they gave kids at school though, no points on them! We would all sit at one table and share the broken crayons!
From this exercise, I learned how to work in a group, follow directions, use colors, then use scissors to cut out the turkey or feathers... Loved it, but pretty sure my mother threw it away quickly

  1. Love that pumpkin! Can't wait to see when it's finished! The reindeer made me laugh! I hope you find a pup soon! We got a mini and I love that we can pick him up. Go small!

  3. I feel the same way about technology and your French toast looks and sounds delicious! I need to make some!

  4. Hope you get the technology issue solved. Yummy looking French toast, and stale bread does make it tasty. A very cute little dog. One of my former coworkers has a tiny little dog with a huge wardrobe of cute clothes. I think they know they look adorable.

  8. I'm so sorry about your computer failing on you - that is so frustrating. That reindeer video is a hoot - we need things to laugh about these days. Cute little dog - and in a dress, too! I just love your pumpkin - so glad you're on to quilting it!

  9. I am s sorry to hear of your computer failure! It seems computers don't last very many years. We are a bit aggravated that virus programs seem to want to add on--add on--for more $$$ to work fully too. It used to be one price and full coverage. I do remember making a turkey shape by tracing my hand as a child, and teaching the same to my children and grandchildren! So fun!

  10. The best dogs come to those who wait....I know the perfect one is out there for you. Sorry to hear about your tech troubles. Stuff like that is very irritating to me, as well. Thank you for linking up.

  14. So sorry about the demise of your computer. I keep thinking mine is going to do the same because it's doing some odd things lately.
And yes, I do remember making those turkeys and so did our boys when they were in school. I expect likely the grandkids do too.

  15. I hate all the devices too esp.when they don't work like they should. A great roundup here...what a cute doggie but what a price tag! I'm sharing the video with Tony. Love what you learned from your turkey making activity. J

  16. Mom loves technology but if it fails, stay clear of her until she has a replacement up and running. It happened last spring and it was two weeks of awful at our house since she needs the laptop for her business and it was completely dead. Cute reindeer video and the dog with the dress is cute but too small for our Mom and far too expensive. Have a fun weekend.

  18. I can only watch PBS and Amazon Prime on my TV because GoogleTV did an update and I can't figure out how to log in to Google on the TV again. My daughter did it for me the first time when she set it up. I guess I'll have to wait until she's here at Christmas to fix it for me. Ugh.

  19. Good morning! Thanks so much for visiting me at Marmelade Gypsy. That French toast sounds wonderful -- a great way to use up ingredients, too. Your quilting piece is gorgeous. Loving the color. And all good wishes with your computer. I know how frustrating that is.
