I Like Thursday # 473 neighborhood stroll, puzzles, quilt, books, no dog still

welcome to this week's list of likes.... I liked this neighbor's decor

on our walks this week we explored another 'hood and they had a nature area... old, unspoiled, quiet,

reminded me of Florida preserves... we stood for a long while, just breathing in and out, letting our eyes drift and our brains take a break

some homes were built along the preserve, and we thought that might be nice

I enjoyed this more formal halloween look

and if we had a dog, I would be tempted to dress them in this
it says Kissing Booth
I liked the flamingo shadow on my back porch this week...

I did another E jigsaw puzzle and thought it was quaint from another time:

listening on audio books from library
and reading on Ebook, next in the series after Fundraising the Dead. I liked the author's style, kept my interest, intelligent, a bit humorous, set in a museum in Philadelphia

enjoying DWTS, Survivor, Amazing race, Golden Bachelor on TV if you want to discuss it...

the weather is 80's then 60;s then whatever mother nature wants that moment
I enjoy cooler days, the sun turns the temps 10-15 deg hotter and there is little shade here.

sewing with halloween fabric prints this week (this one is quilted and ready for binding (along the edge)

details on Sat's post

and made this needlebook last week

an older quilt
we're dancers too

I talked to a breeder this week  about her dog to be rehomed,   . She has to decide who gets her. The poodle won't be available for about 5 + months as she is approaching her last breeding. Sad. We can't seem to find a rescue poodle to love and I need one.

still having body problems, emotional upheaval, depression. I need a support.

conversation starter this week

what dish would you take to a fall gathering? or which dish at a fall gathering would you reach for first?

I love finger food, so I'd reach for veggie items that were bite sized... and appetizers.

If it was a buffet, I would be attracted to anything made of potatoes, I like salads. One group I used to belong to in MD someone always brought KFC nuggets, which I liked. I admit to being partial to french onion dip and chips, no redeeming value.

For a big pot luck I liked to make a quick appetizer with crescent roll dough, cut in smaller wedges, a piece of summer sausage, shredded cheese roll up and bake.

or a tray with lots of olives, cheese, pickles (special ones like okra) and cut veggies

this recipe looks so good puff apple treats

  2. Survivor comment: The snake bite looked too scary for me. Glad he made it back for his son's birth though. Feeling bad for Starving Sophie!

  3. I am so sorry to hear you are missing your beloved poodle. I have two doodles currently and they are my sanity and bring so much joy, so I totally understand. I hope you find a perfect poodle to love soon.

  4. I've seen several of those coming out of the ground skeletons in our area too. We drive by a house that has one on the roof and they leave it there year 'round.
A dish for a fall gathering would most likely be some sort of soup in the crock pot.

  5. Such fun yard decorations this time of year. At a potluck I tend to go for the pasta dishes. Hope the perfect dog finds you soon!!

  6. The skeletons all over the place are so fun! I love the one you showed with hat and tie on. I like the appetizers, too. And the salads - I could make a whole meal of potluck salads! Your needlebook is a beauty - I love scrappy little things made like that. Happy Thursday!

  11. We’ve seen some skeletons and lots of inflatable ghosts and goblins. Those seem really popular here. I’m glad the new Prime Time season has started. We watch FBI, all 3 NCISs, and looking forward to streaming Chicago Wed on Peacock tonight. Guess there is theme at our house too.
We’ve sort of given up looking forward a dog. Maybe in the Spring when the Wei’s better and Mr. Busy is finally back to “better than before”. You can put me back on the regular participants list. I think I’m going to be able to post regularly. Thanks for your emotional support. Love your Halloween fabric creation. Happy Thursday!

  12. Lots of good stuff! Cheese detectors kind of remind me of veggie detectors we've had in this house. The current piggy has a fondness for the store-bought cookie treats, though. Those apple doughnuts look pretty good! I may have to try that.
