welcome to this week's creativity round up. I want to be beading, painting and writing but my body won't cooperate. Luckily I could still sew, so, on with the show...
Starting with the 10th Hexi spiral block this year, this time in light pale blues
I kind of like it! Surprised myself with that! I finished hand sewing the hexies while watching the premier of this season's Amazing Race (and sewed two in the middle wrong, having to rip out and resew
last time DH said he liked them turned a different way (I was too dazzled by all the spiraling to notice)
so here the block is turned
Remember this Halloween 2025 start on the design wall?not sewn together yet |
batting and hexie cut same size, backing larger for each |
and fussy cutting into my Halloween print stash
one finished block, sew 24 together and done! |
two finished quilted bound blocks and 22 to go, then arrange and sew together, done!
see the backing is larger to pull to the front and finish after quilting? |
I'll show others later... glad to see the end of pale blue and green as focus colors at RSC this month
a "nature" shot seen on my walk this week, of pale green
with two gratuitous flamingos and a solar up light
I like these fall grasses in Colorado. More of a pale yellowish green that's it for this week y'all
I just love all of your work. You are so very creative!
ReplyDeleteLove that little Halloween project. It's looking so cute! I haven't put out the Halloween quilts, but plan to at some point this next week.
ReplyDeleteEverything is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like your pale blue spiral - it's so calming and peaceful! On the other hand, the Halloween projects are fun and energetic. You have the cutest Halloween prints!
ReplyDeleteYour pale blue spiral is beautiful and yes, calming! I like where you are going with your fussy cut Halloween prints too!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun how one project will lead to another (or several!). Looks like you've been having fun playing with your Halloween fabrics. Hope you're soon feeling better though!
ReplyDeleteYour pale spirale is very pretty, and I love your Halloween hexies! It's going to be a fun and spooky project!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your creative week and linking up, take care.
I love to see your hexi spirals. Your Halloween hexies are great fun! Enjoy your projects. I hope you can get back to your beading and painting soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry your body is not cooperating with your creativity! Hugs to you! I am also surprised you liked the pale blues, but it is a peaceful combination of colors. Cute Hallowen hexies!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the light blue hexies! I know you prefer brighter colors but you rocked this one.
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to say hi! Read the last four entries - so much eye candy in your photos and I love your playing with your fabric scraps for Halloween. I am working on designing something for the fabric I have on hand and am not coming up with anything, but your play inspires me so maybe soon! Too much company this summer, just finished another weekend with a friend here and next weekend the same....I barely recover!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking a lot like Halloween at your place. I'm loving those shades of blue in your spiralling hexies. I must say I agree with your DH. =)
ReplyDeleteWow all of these are so pretty or fun or just very creative.
ReplyDeleteThe halloween small hexies with borders look delightful. My eyes struggle with the bigger one on the design wall- i await the completion of your magic on that one.
ReplyDeleteI just adore the Halloween quilt you put on display! So much to love. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss. https://www.inquiringquilter.com/questions/2025/10/01/wednesday-wait-loss-452
ReplyDeleteI love that you are always working on such a wide variety of projects! Those hexie spirals are soothing and calm, and then the Halloween prints are a complete departure and so much fun.
ReplyDeleteSorry your body is not cooperating with your desire for creativity but glad you could at least sew. Great projects. Fun Halloween quilts. I hope you have a great week. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
ReplyDeleteI saw a photo of your hexie spiral block on Brenda's blog and had to come and look. You are on a hexie roll! I've never seen a hexie spiral before, and it is really pretty and impressive. I'm going to look back through your blog to see if you have a method for it. Your Halloween hexies look great together.
ReplyDeleteYour spiral hexi is very cool. the nature walk - love those flamingos in their *native* environment haha!!
