Our prompt this week:
do you like to carve pumpkins? do you have a pic of one you did? Have you ever been to a display or contest of carved pumpkins?
I don't like to carve pumpkins. (Messy) I always feel as if I'll stab myself with the knife! lol
I did not grow up with parents carving pumpkins or decorating at all. I was given a dime store costume and had a GREAT time trick or treating in my neighborhood. I still love costumes and dressing up, decorating and special foods. I like seeing carved pumpkins on neighborhood porches. I once saved a Martha Stewart magazine of ideas. I did a pumpkin quilt, and put felt pieces on it for the face that could be moved around.
Milo's Moment
Milo: M o m m m m .... I was just having a moment with my old chicken... I brought him to my day bed to snuggle. Sheesh always with that camera!
we love the dragon... that is fab!! have a good cuddle time with your chicken ilo ... and a happy thursday
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful painting and your wonderful quilt pieces. We also love pears!
ReplyDeleteI've carved many pumpkins in my life, starting from childhood. I haven't carved one for about 15 years now though -- they are indeed messy to do and can be a fair amount of work to do.
ReplyDeleteWe love you! Milo and your mom's art!
ReplyDeleteThe dragon on the house is a hoot! And your smiling pear, too. Milo, old toys are just like old quilts, right?! Sometimes they are the best to snuggle with!
ReplyDeleteOh, Milo is too cute!
ReplyDeleteYour moon painting is awesome!! I did grow up carving pumpkins and trick or treating in my neighborhood. And I made sure my kids had the same experience. I always dressed in costume for Halloween when I was teaching at a high school. I used to wear costumes when handing out candy at the door too. I haven't however in the last few years.
ReplyDeleteThe Super Harvest Moon is really pretty this month. I forgot about this week's prompt: We always carve a pumpkin. Hubby used to do it with the kids but now it's just us. I've got 2 pumpkins ready to carve as Halloween gets closer. Have a great Thursday!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't observe Halloween in the place and time I grew up so pumpkin carving wasn't a thing for me. Downunder, with the seasons reversed, we wouldn't have pumpkins for Halloween anyway. I love the displays of multiple varieties and colours of pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteThat dragon is too cool up there and I really love your painting. Milo, you gonna do the chicken dance? Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteYour Super Hunter's moon watercolor captured the likeness of Ruby my cat, enjoying the view! lovely!! Its the brightest moon in 2024...tonight! good for making moon shadows.
ReplyDeleteMilo and his chicken made me smile. Milly had a little brown dog that had been stitched to and inch of its life but she slept with it every night where ever we were.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
What a lovely water colour painting!
ReplyDeleteMilo made me smile with his 'old' chicken. Bless him.
I like your hexes or whatever they are called. I have no idea what you are making. You'll have to explain next week. These are all pieces of fabric I assume....
I've just spotted your Katherine Hepburn quote. Very good.
Hsve a lovely weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca
Sounds like you've had lots of smiles this week. Alfie has "Little Dog" it originally belonged to my other Schnauzer Stan and they have both loved it whereas the girls had no interest in it. I have sewn little dog up so many times to stop his filling coming out and bought a new one but No! Alfie said "Take it away and bring back the real Little Dog" so I keep pushing more stuffing in it and sewing it up. Have a good weekend. Hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention, the cartoons are not mine, I'm too lazy or busy to draw my own Lol! Hugs Angela x
ReplyDeleteThe pear is a hoot. The moon has been impressive! I like your full moon painting.
ReplyDeleteMilo looks like a great dog. One of my second granddad was name milo. Over on my blog I have a link to You Tube on lady who loves color. Her name is Sue, and I think you would enjoy her.
ReplyDeleteYour water colour painting is priceless and that cutie pear is delicious. Thanks for linking to Art For Fun Friday
ReplyDeleteMuch♡love
Your watercolor of the moon, tree, and kitty is beautiful. I can tell that it gave you great pleasure creating. I hope you're continuing to feel better!
ReplyDeleteMilo's toy looks like the ones here at home. Calvin likes to take the stuffing out of them all! Thank you for linking up and have a great week ahead.
